A young girl died after being electrocuted when her mobile phone slipped into her bath while it was charging.

I am not too sure but may be because the power source in some countries is 220 volts. I wonder what the consequences would be if it was in Canada where we use 110 volts.

I'm surprised that the bathroom outlet didn't have a ground fault interrupter which is required by code to prevent this from happening. We are talking about Russia or some other western European country.

Personally speaking, I always take my phone with me when I am on the toilet seat but almost all the time the phone has enough charge on it. But from now on, I am going to make sure it is charged because I would hate to drop my phone in the toilet bowl and have my butt rimmed by a bolt of electricity.
