Hamster off to see the veterinarian!
I've never been to this S.T.D. center, but it sounds like a good all-in-one location. I recently did my health checks all over the place.
1) The Q-tip swab was done at the GP to check for bacteria.
2) GP then referred me for the blood test at one of those blood-testing clinics, which are usually next door to urine sample clinics.
3) The Hepatitis A-B shots were done 3 times over 6 months to build up the immunization. Most private medical plans do not cover this vaccine, about $170 for 3 shots and the "prescription" fee(s). I did these shots at a "Care Clinic" because their waiting time tends to be much lower than a GP's. You walk into a Care Clinic, make an appointment, then rush next door to the pharmacist to pick up the vaccine, and then go back to the Care Clinic. After you buy these shots, one at a time, from the pharmacist, they take it out of the refrigerator and you want it injected as soon as possible.
If this S.T.D. centre has an urologist, since your pants are down, then it is a good time to get the prostate checked too. You can ask the GP to do it, but why not ask the specialist. Every year or two it seems like a New York Yankee gets prostate cancer and men suddenly get checked. If men live long enough, then we would all get prostate cancer...and skin cancer.
Cheers!
