Tom, I keep finding the Korgo virus in different versions. It attacks the system files on your computer. Mine were so damaged that I can't use my WordPerfect anymore. I acquired a program called Antivir which you can find on the net, download and use. I am told it is what many offices of companies and government use.

Yes, Charlie is a sweetheart. It's so refreshing to hear about one SP actually helping another to get herself established. Most of the time, the stories I hear are tales of backstabbing.

yes Avery, that is 100% right. But she is slowly teaching me on an outcall and incall basis, rather than massage parlour ways, she at one time did tell me to put my ad on ec,i did not even listen but now she seems to be helping me out with minor questions, this lady truly deserves an award for looking after the sp,s safety etc.and helping me get my feet back on the ground! She is a truly remarkable women.

viruses on PERB

Thanks for the information Stalin and thanks for the link Phoenix. It seems unlikely that you could pick up a virus off of PERB, but certainly not impossible. But I'm a bit of a computer neanderthal, so what do I know.

It does seem, however, that some of us spend way too much time on this board, so if we haven't picked anything up from the board (o.k. ... other than sp's, advise, Phoenix's mother, and a good laugh or two) then it may be you've picked up the Korgo worm somewhere else.

But thanks for the info all the same. Forewarned is forearmed or some such bullshit!

Viruses

If you don't have a good virus program installed on your computer, you shouldn't even have it connected to the Internet. Anything you do on the Internet exposes you to viruses. Email and accessing infected web sites are probably the most common.

For those of you who are interested, here are a couple recommendations...

First and most importantly, get a real virus scanning program on your computer and make sure that it automatically updates itself on a regular basis. McAfee and Norton are the most common. I prefer to use Trend PCCillin because it causes fewer problems. I have a web site where you can buy it for about $30. Pm me if you want the link.

Second, make sure that your computer is downloading Windows updates from the Microsoft web site regularly. The setting is in the Control Panel under "System" in WinXP. In Internet Explorer, you can also click Tools/Windows Update.

If you don't have an antivirus program and you think you have a virus, you can visit this web site to run a scan of your computer for free. Click on the "Virus Scan Housecall" link...

So that's what Mandy meant when she told me last week that you'd gained weight!

BTW, When was the last time you saw your pecker?

PECKER? I have a Pecker? Fuck, couldn't you've told me earlier!

"URLMON.DLL"
Every so often I would get the the above message that I had a damaged DLL file. OK, I found were to download your DLL files and found which folder it belongs in. Every time I try and copy it from my desktop to the proper folder, my computer tells me I can't because windows is using that file.
I have even tried it in safemode without any luck.
How can I replace my URLMON.DLL file?

Hey chuck, thanks for the link. It looks like it may help me. I'll read it over in detail when I get home tonight. (still at work, shit)
