Gardasil for men

Gardasil doesn't cure HPV. Once you get it, it's for life. It only works if you get it BEFORE contracting. It's available for women, but I'mnot sure if it works or is available for men.

Not grown men who sleep with prostitutesI believe you can get it at the Travel Clinic. I think it's around $125 shot x 3 shots over 1 year. But of course, the health nurse will tell you more.

Yes, Health Canada has approved Gardasil for males aged 9 to 26. It is the same vaccine that is used for woman, so many drug stores have it in stock.
I called the shoppers drug mart near the Bute street clinic and they charge $165 per dose. You need a total of 3 doses.
To get the vaccine you just need to speak with a doctor and they will write you a prescription.
The vaccine can still be given at any age it is just unsure how beneficial it can be as many people come in contact with HPV soon after they start having sex. Like all vaccines it only works in preventing the infection not curing it.
In an audio interview we did with Dr Gina Ogilvie she discussed how the vaccine protects against 4 different strains of HPV. She suggested talking to your doctor about the vaccine as it may be of some benefit as it could protect against another strain that you don't have.

There certainly has been a great deal of discussion about vaccines and mercury. This comes from the use of thimerosal which is a mercury containing preservative. Thimerosal has been used since the 1930. The type of mercury used and the dose it was used at in vaccines has never shown any harmful effects to people.
Vaccines used on children are the most studied and monitored medication on the planet. Even though there were no harmful effects, vaccine manufactures decided to remove thimerosal from vaccines because of public concern.
Currently there is no thimerosal used in any childhood vaccine in Canada. This includes Gardasil the HPV vaccine. The only exception is the influenza (flu) vaccine in the multi-dose vial, which does contain thimerosal but at the same time we have a flu vaccine without it if people prefer. The only difference is that the flu vaccine without thimerosal only last for 7 days after it is opened.
