Just quitting is your best move. I have tried for years, my goal is now to just watch people play and play the automated lottery machine there.

one quick question, can you afford to be gambling? i was gambling hard before, where i couldn't pay bills, etc. i went cold turkey slowly, now, i just limit myself to $200 playing poker every 2 months, i'm used to that now.

if you make less than $250k/year, stop gambling, you really can't afford to be going through gambling highs and lows in the thousands and living at the casinos

I dont keep track of my wins or losses cause i rarely go. Even though i have lots of friends who bug me friday nights to head to the casinos. Consider yourself lucky losing 3k and sign a self ban. Cause i've heard stories of people losing 2 much and not being afford to pay rent or their mortgage. Was at playland/pne today and lost about 80.00 which isnt to bad.

They are ALL losing games long-term. It's basic math...give it up...

Maybe learn poker and stick to the lower limits.

hey man. i used to do a lot of gambling as well, and just like you are saying, can be up lots and then down lots. hell i was even going into five digits up or down at one point. biggest question for you is how much can you afford to gamble. if you had bankroll like bill gates, down three grand is fuck all, but if that three grand stopped you from making rent or mortgage or food for the kids, yes then get the hell out of that casino, just cut your loss. biggest thing though, like everyone else will say, unless you are some math whiz from harvard or MIT, you are bound to lose. THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS. PERIOD. for me, the key is knowing when to walk away. if your up a bunch leave, doesnt matter if you think you can make more, just leave. same goes for when you losing, once you start going down get the hell out. cause its the idea that you can win your way back up that fucks you over. sometimes it works but more often it doesnt. so my advice is to go in with a set amount, just have a fun time, enjoy yourself cause thats what going to the casino should be all about, regardless whether you win or lose!

Most of the casinos here in canada they use shufflers where u cant count cards. Not sure if it matters if you're some math whiz. I've tried bacarat also and that's basically a coin toss game.

there are some casino's in edmonton that still have the dealer do the shuffling. i like it better that way too. for some reason i just dont trust what the shuffler machine can do. maybe im being paranoid but thats me.

, but i feel like i can win it back
That is the whole point

I enjoy the slots every now and again. I never take more than $50 in. My rule is anything I win immediately goes into my purse never to come back out, and I never lose more than my original $50. Most times I walk out plus or minus 30 bucks and I have a great time.

I also buy a powerball ticket every week when I'm in the US, if that counts as gambling (it costs $1)
You are a smart cookie :D

Craps and blackjack are the only 2 long term games with a POTENTIAL positive long run payoff, but learning to play it right takes years to beat the house edge. Also poker without house take.

I don't know why everyone plays baccarat. The house edge is staggering.

I usually play Roulette and Baccarrat.

Baccarrat has the best odds of all the games in the casino.

Texas Holdem is also a good bet, as you are playing strangers at a table, and have control of your bets.

Next to blackjack, baccarat has the lowest house edge.

A while back I was going there quite frequently.....
and for me playing house games ( black jack , baccarrat etc..) Lose > Win
but when playing poker my Win is pretty even with Lose... so if you wanna gamble and win, dont play house games cuz they always have the edge over you....

But for me right now I just myself 100 to go play craps at the casino to have fun cuz I dont have the time to sit at the poker table for hours to grind it out.... :p

Over the past 25 years or so Casino's have been in Vancouver i would imagine i've made around $80,000.

On the other hand, i've probably lost around $130,000.

Gambling can become very addictive very quickly depending on your personality type. I know i can't control myself in the long run, so i rarely go now ... but i always go to win when i do ha ha.

Pay your bills first ... the Casino last, oh ... and always save a few bucks for drowning your sorrows lol.

The werd of experience. HH

Whenever I go to the casinos (probably 6 times per year), I go in with like 50 bucks and expecting to lose. Not saying that I wouldn't mind winning, but I treat casinos like the arcades, you pay money, you get some quick fun, that's about it.

Loser's game

Gamblers lose - end of story. Do you think Vegas/Macao/Monaco exist because the casinos lose money?? House always wins in the long run, regardless of the game.

It always amazes me how many people think they can beat tables games.
In the long term as well. I even have a buddy who thinks he has a winning system for roulette. All based on the fact that when he was 19 he was able to turn $20 into $8000 in one night playing roulette. The "system" has not repeated since, if over 15 years.
Yet the guy tries, losing $400-$500 every week. Probably more than half his takehome pay.
