Perhaps it's too much sun ((not like I am complaining or anything... :p )) But as I luxuriated on Wreck Beach... With my writing journal & a "magic" muffin... I got to daydreaming about...

The "funniest" names that I have met in my life...

Number 1) "James Bond" Yes I actually went to high school WITH a James Bond... Okay the teasing got pretty boring after, oh, about 10 minutes...

Number 2) "William Williams" Who would name their son William WHEN their surname is WILLIAMS? Like come on??????????

Okay maybe it was too many coolers... But Lovin' the sunshine!!! :)

What are your 2 most memorable names you have actually met/encountered?

Flartibatfast (I never actually met anyone with that name but I read in Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy the said name for "God", who only really created the fjords of Norway)

One of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, with the given and inherited surname of...

Harold Hole (normally goes by his first two initials rather than Harry)

Otherwise, an English instructor named Art Phallic is a distant second.

I remember reading somewhere years ago about a girl who sued her parents for naming her "Ima". Their family name was "Pigg". I never heard what happened, but hopefully the girl was awarded millions in damages and left her stupid, cruel parents broke and crippled.

Brooke Lynn Bridge (cute for the first 10 minutes)

Dick Little and Kelly Grace - both of them were guys. Now, they don't sound too bad said forward, but during row call, especially when there was a substitute teacher and she read the last name first - it became damn funny.

Michael Hunt (who of course insisted on being called by his full name) What were the parents thinking?

And this one is just cute. My cousin has a Psychiatrist whos name is Dr. Hapi. I guess he got into the right profession.

Buncha years ago, Larry & Willie on C-FOX had their first "Toughest Contest Ever" or whatever it was called.

One contestant had to legally change his name to Heywood Jablowme.

Wonder if he kept that or not...?

I have a friend with the surname Dick, and she has an uncle, who I've met personally, named Harry Dick.

Needless to say, he goes by a nickname.

The last name "Growcock" is common in the US apparently.

I think I met somebody named "Harold Growcock" one time. I think it's safe to say he didn't use Harry for short.

The most famous guy in Regina is Dick Assman. He even appeared on the Letterman show because of his name. He works at a Petro Canada gas station and every year hundreds of people make a point of stopping there just to meet him. Fame!!

In high school we had a guy named Richard Head, we called him Rick because he'd beat the hell out of any one who called him Dick. A few years back I saw a newspaper article about an RCMP Officer in Nova Scotia with the same name. You decide if it's fitting or not.

State of confusion
I went to school with a girl named Penny Lay.

Used to know a lawyer who's listing in the white pages was under Hugh G. Rection (although that wasn't his real name.)

There was a wide receiver who played for the Cleveland Browns in the 70's named Fair Hooker. I think he was a good receiver though.

Knew a guy years ago whose name was Richard Hettema. If you reverse the names you get Hettema Dick.

Name Game

Well I knew a Richard Peter.... and he did it to himself, he went by Dick.

There was also a Dick Assman that owned a local filling station.

I didn't know "Harry" but I did meet an elderly lady Dandy Hole, no kidding.

Finally there was a local gynocologist called Dr. Kaunt.... without a word of a lie!

There are my two cents worth
