The Nightengale Pizza is what I was talking about when I referred to the Hawksworth Pizza. I got the name mixed up. It is probably the highest quality pizza you can get at grocery store. I used to always get that spicy salumi. However, it is harder to compare to the frozen pizzas, because it doesn't come frozen. Its just a pizza made at the restaurant, and then plastic sealed, and then sold in the deli section of the grocery store.
soooo why not just get a pizza from the resturant?
i work at a pizza place 1 night a weelk, seriously if we could sell them without having to cook them, well, you are all idiots

Gee let me think about that. Maybe because the grocery store is much closer than the restaurant. Maybe because it is less expensive and more convenient to heat up a pizza at home than eat at the restaurant.

I have been a cook at home pizza fan for many years. Mainly because I (ahem) am a good cook and understand mass vs time to cook, rendering of ingredients etc. So I very much cheer on all other pizza at home cooks!

But I am crust challenged, never could quite get it to that level of perfection that works like a phyllo pastry where the crust is damn near melt in the mouth. So more recently I have been buying various pizza kits to get the crust, the cauliflower based ones seems promising and handle heat well. I make my own sauce from fresh or canned tomatoes and fresh herbs, then play with whatever I have in the fridge. Yes it takes more time and if I add up the ingredients its probably $10 for a large pizza plus my time, but I enjoy it. Latest winner is a coho salmon, feta, spinach layered on very thin sliced garamond potatoes over tomato basil sauce on the cauliflower crust. I cook it in my gas grill that can reach 750F. Its getting there :)

Believe it or not there's a weight to dollar ratio value that someone did indicating that it's cheaper at times to buy an actual pizza from a pizza place than buying the frozen box. The only thing you save on the frozen box is ordering in or going out to pick up.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
I have to admit to buying frozen pizzas in the past. When my daughter was young I always had a couple in the freezer for "emergency" meals. As a single parent they came in handy when we were in a rush or I was too tired from a busy work day. But I always found I had to dress them up with a few extra toppings and definitely extra cheese in order to make them edible.
Cheers

a bad pizza is like a bad blowjob , its still a blowjob !............... close your eyes and make the best of it !!
This frozen pizza cost me $2.99, I'm sure it will be lovely (although maybe not as good as a blowjob) and will probably be enough for two meals.
We enjoy a simple life here on Walden Pond West.
BTW it was made in Germany, I suspect the chef was Herr Oetker.

Herr Oetker is in Little Chute Wisconsin lol
That's fine, as long as he stays the hell away from my little chute. LOL.

Edit: I just learned that in July 2011 Dr. Oetker announced the building of its first North American factory in London, Ontario, to make frozen pizzas made from Ontario produce and ingredients that will be shipped in Canada and the US.

My mistake, it’s Degorno that comes out of Little Chute.
