If he is this big a douchebag in public, when he knows he is on TV, imagine how he treats the women he works with.
THIS is the point I was making. People don't suddenly change the way they behave when you point a tv camera at them; it just makes it clearer, and public. Every woman you know has worked with a guy like that, who thinks it's ok to say things like that and behave that way in every industry/ job setting. First example that comes to mind for me is when my direct supervisor asked me "How do you pronounce this word (the French verb for 'to push')? Is it Poosay? Do you pronounce it POOS-ay, or pooSAY? Is it POOSee? pooSEEE?" How thrilling! To get away with saying PUSSY that many times to a female co-worker with a smirk on your face??? And in front of a classroom full of 6th graders, too...funny, right? Thank God this was the responsible supervising adult male in the building!

The students, if any of them caught it, were polite enough to be properly horrified into not responding. I simply kept a straight face and suggested a verb that was easier to pronounce. In retrospect though, I wish I had figuratively nailed that fucker to the wall.

This man is more idiotic than I originally perceived if he thinks an apology at this point changes public opinion.

Not that I have the slightest interest in defending him, but the apology was sent privately to Ms. Hunt and it appears to be her that is disclosing she received it. She called it genuine. Regardless of what he said to her, I agree it is a bit more genuine to send it to her directly. Anything he said publicly would just look like an attempt to save face.

There's probaby some yuppie cutthroat business somewhere who admires what he did and thinks he'd be a great asset to their team.

Even on a Ranch environment like I have here, my men are expected to behave with respect to my brand, and reputation in the surrounding small communities.
I had one incedent here ,when all my cowboys went for a time on the town, and of course, as young cowboys will do,they ended up in a Bar.
There was an underage girl in the establishment, and words were exchanged between my employees, and a group of locals, and things went violent.
The next day, a group of young men showed up here, with various intentions to harm some of my guys at work....It turned into some old fashioned gun pointing, and things almost went sideways.
I knew I had not heard the entire "real" story, but I was backing up my employees, even though I wasn't there the night before....or had anything to do with the incident.
My point is, they were on their own time causing trouble, and had brought that trouble back to work, and put my good name, as well as my businesses name, into question...I had no choice but to let two good Cowboys go for the sake of the greater good.
I also knew I was walking a fine line, between right and wrong when I dismissed them...But when the Law is over an hour away, and their behaviour put everyone in danger, I felt the decision had already been made for me.

You seem awfully excited about this guys ongoing punishment. Why don't we just send you to his house and you can shoot him in the head or set him on fire?

You want to know why?

Because I worked at a place full of total assholes just like him. Guys who thought they were macho men, guys that constantly leered at female employees, made comments you'd expect from a twelve year old, guys who thought being a filthy degenerate was normal. They literally chased many women out the door by making it unbearable for women to work there.

Guys like him have cost many many women their jobs and nobody cared. When I fired a couple after repeated warnings and human rights complaints these guys still did not get the hint.

It is good to see an asshole like him get what he deserved. It is so rare. Like Erica said above, this shit goes on constantly. Rexxx you are very lucky if ypu don't have to deal with it daily. If you did you would understand.

westwoody: you are a good man. Your sons will be good men too, because you understand that raising a boy to be a real man means teaching him how to behave appropriately in any social or employment situation.

What this crowd yelled was moronic and insulting but the whole PC reaction to it is even worse.

I don't need to here news readers like Jody Vance lecturing me through my TV screen about what one or two idiots say at a soccer match. If you don't want to hear this shit don't send an open Mike out into a crowd of drunken degenerates.

I'm sure every news source will do just the opposite. I'm sure this reporter is loving all of the attention this has brought her. She could be the next Britt Mchenry.

Heres a new game to play

1) find live news cast with female reporter
2) paitently and respectfully wait til news cast is over
3) hold sign in background that states "respect and equality for women!!"

Yes and the audience for that would be huge.

I think we should all respect and tolerate our brothers and sisters but the majority of humans don't agree.

I'm not sure you could completely judge this man by a few stupid moments in his life. I'm sure he would love to have another chance. Perhaps he's this generation's Steve Bartman.

Poor Shawn Simoes is the media's new villan because he had a few drinks and acted stupidly.
