Singapore!!!!

So, the first ever race at night. Also a street race to add.
Very hot and muggy. A new track that looked bumpy in places.
The season has been interesting to say the least. No clear winner for the over all championship yet. Hamilton has a one point lead going in.

Massa wins another pole. with Hamilton right beside.
The race starts out on form. 15 laps in and Nelson Piquet crashes.
Safety car. The whole race takes a strange turn.
Ferrari screw up Massa's pit. Fuel hose problem. Once again!!!
Therefore Massa is now at the back, after leading. Hamilton is about 7th.
Pit strategy with other teams has put Alonso in front. Rosberg and Hamilton are now right behind. That is the way it ended.

Hamilton now has a 7 point lead with three races left. China, Japan and Brazil

The way things have gone this year it will be lots of fun yet.

Can you guys explain to me what it is that you get out of auto racing? I just don't get it. I have only watched the odd race and seeing cars drive around a track bored me to tears.

Now, I see the crowds at these events and see how many people are FANATICAL about it, so the question is, "What am I missing here?". There has to be something I'm not getting. I LOVE watching pretty much any sport out there. Help me out guys, I'm almost jealous of not getting the joy that you do out of these events!!!
thats just it,you get it or you do not.
Try going to a few events and maybe you will at least understand a bit more about it.It is a sport, one that has been around since the second wheel was built.:)

Still lost in the '60s
Kimi stuffs it into the wall in Singapore

Sure, it was a very long, difficult race on a demanding track under muggy conditions. Most people on earth are not capable of driving as well as Kimi did. But... toward the end of the race, he may have lost concentration, went a bit too wide, collected too much kerb, and ended up breaking his very expensive Ferrari, and throwing away a couple of valuable constructors points, giving MacLaren the lead.

Question: Is Kimi losing his motivation, or something?

Sure, anybody can make a mistake, like the guy who released Massa too soon while his fuel nozzle was still attached. But the Kimi we're seeing this year doesn't seem like the same Kimi who won the world championship last year.

Or am I overstating the case?

Another wacky race.

It has been a really event filled season so far.

Japanese Grand Prix. Just watched it tonight.

two wins in a row for Fernado. Is he the best driver right now.

My opinion of Lewis Hamilton took another dive after this race.
Too much of a hot head and not enough experience yet. Too much too soon.
He has to learn how to drive F1 cars yet.

Massa is coming on strong. Kind of too strong. Makes me nervous to watch him drive sometimes.

Really good to see other teams like BMW and Renault do good. That is good for the future.

There are two more races. China and then Brazil. I think Hamilton has a six point lead. I hope he does not win the championship this year. He needs to know how to win.

I am really sad to read of the demise of the Montreal Grand Prix. Everything is politics or money these days. I don't think it is completely dead yet. There has been a great outcry within the racing teams and officials as to why this happened. That story is not over yet.

Anyway. Glad to see Alonso win again. Such a great driver.

China!!!

Okay, this race was kind of boring. Hamilton lead all the way and was not really challenged the whole way. Ferrari finished 2nd and 3rd. Massa is still 7 points behind going into the last race of the year.

Brazil is Massa's home race and he always does good there. He does have lots of incentive. Both of the Ferrari's will have new engines. Not Hamilton which could be a factor.

Alonso is actually the best driver right now, with the equipment he has.
Just have to wait and see. 2 weeks. Should be fun.

End of Season Review.....

Yes. The season is over.
The race in Brazil was actually really great. An exciting ending. Never really knew the result until the checkered flag dropped.
Yes, Massa won. Lead most of the way, like he had too. Hamilton just had to finish 5th or better to be champion. It went down to the last lap, Glock was trying hard to hold his place, but did not have the car to hold on. Hamilton passed him to finish 5th and take the championship. He becomes the youngest ever. All credit to him. Did what he had to do. Was he actually the best driver?
I'm not so sure.
Put him in a lesser car and see what happens. A bit too cocky for me.
Ferrari wins the constructors race.

Big changes for next year. The groved tires are history. Montreal is gone.
Also there will be driver movement, some retirements and changing teams.

It will all start again next March in Austrailai. Already looking forward to it.

Thank you all for letting me post this here, I know a lot of you don't give a damn, but thanks anyway!!!
