Ever sacrifice your pooning budget?

After slowly saving up $20 here and $20 there, I built up enough of a pooning budget to reward myself for a big accomplishment that I've been working on for years and years.

But before getting a chance to spend it, a friend of mine who was directly affected by a recent high-profile animal abuse incident came by and invited me to an SPCA fund-raising event that they were participating in. After tugging at our heartstrings with thoughts of suffering little dogs and cats, they let us know about the SPCA's funding needs.

An ethical dilemma arose: do I rescue these cute little animals, or do I satisfy my own animal urges?

Since friends were involved, I did the right thing and paid up. I can wait a couple more months to rebuild the budget; hopefully before xmas expenses hit.

Anybody else ever blow their pooning budget on something foolish or noble or charitable?

I don't have a budget.
I know I spend more than is reasonable, I just don't care.

Hmmm, help pussy or get pussy. Sounds like a very ethical question indeed. My guess if you help pussy some good looking young lass with SPCA will take shining to you and you will also get pussy.

Precisely my issue. When I get the urge, it's a battle between my frugality and my libido. In the end, my libido tends to win. I've found that I just factor pooning into my regular budget to be realistic about my expenses rather than assuming that I can put it off to save money.

I"m currently struggling with this.

hours of sexy time with someone(s) or leave it for a bill I know will be coming up soon. like someone I had to cancel on recently put it, being a proper adult gets in the way of fun sometimes.

I might compromise a bit and only spend an hour of sexy time with someone :)

I often wonder about that for a lot of guys. Let's say a guy makes $100,000 a year. Perhaps pretty average these days. That is about $50 an hour before taxes. After all taxes, fees and such, on average he is left with about $24 or so (Tax freedom day in BC is into July now). So your net for all your daily work is about $23 an hour from your $100K yearly income. To see someone at $160 an hour is essentially then a full day working. If someone goes way high end and goes for, say, $250 an hour that is more than 10 hours worked for that hour of "sexy time".

If a poor fellow only makes $50,000 a year - the time working to pay for "sexy time" is doubled.

Worth thinking about for sure for many guys.

The only appropriate response to this thread is to share this quote ..........

“The problem is, God gave man a brain and a penis and only enough blood to run one at a time.” - Robin Williams.

I have sacrificed my pooning budget for whiskey a few times, but then ...

I have also sacrificed my whiskey budget for pooning.

Depends if I am thirsty or horny... !!!

The tax rate is not 50% when somebody earns $100K/year.
Your take home would be $75K/year.

Average yearly salary isn't $100K/year more like $45K/year.
I guess all those rich immigrants in Van city have you thinking that a lot of people are making $100K+/year.

You mean red light camera ticket?
Don't see any showing a fine for $495.
I live in Winnipeg, 16km over the limit in a construction zone. On a Sunday with no workers present.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
I used to poon a lot. I mean a lot.
About 2 years ago I decided to slow down and a year ago retired with the occasional relapse ;).
The money I saved I have used to renovate my old house and dedicated it to 3 charities here in Winnipeg (a pet rescue, a homeless shelter and a women's shelter) and an elephant sanctuary in Africa.

Check your closet..:)
To the OP, I hate to say this but the SPCA is not one of my first choices for animal welfare donations. I do not like the way they operate for a bunch of reasons. They are very for profit IMO.

Totally agree.
That's why most Municipalities have there own shelters now.

Yeah, if it wasn't for the fact that a friend was involved, I might have donated elsewhere.

My farrier got nailed by a camera in WPG going a 9km over the limit!
Ten minutes after I posted this a local lady texted me, she got a ticket in the exact same place!
She was going slower but got $625 ticket.

OP: I give directly to a no kill shelter near my house. They always need food, kitty litter, wipes, all that stuff.
I also take garbage bags of shredded paper from work and they use it for bedding in the animal cages.
Give right to the shelter and cut out all the middle men.

I am lucky I guess in that I started latter in life to poon, my house was paid for, kids well on their way.

But yeah, the money you can go through if you at all enjoy on a regular basis,

My advice to anyone younger would be to wait until your more established finically, don't spend your future while your young.
Pay your bills pay done your mortgage, invest for your retirement, and then its your fun money, spent it as you please.

I was worried when I started to some extent I waited to long to enjoy the company of a beautiful women.
as in I was to old.

But you know its more about your state of mind then anything, and keeping your self fit so you can still get it up.
I don't really see an end in site for me, so what im saying is there is no hurry,

you can poon for a long time into your old age.

and in a sense the finical pressure is off, and your life is established so you don't really care that much if people find out.

I don't know it seems not a wise thing for a younger person to go down this road.
