Ethical Question...

I want to run this by everybody, SPs and pooners alike, because I want to make very sure it would be an acceptable thing to do.

I have a couple of problems I'm trying to address;

1. No Incall location

2. Very few reviews

Here's an idea which may solve both problems - what if I had, as an offer to Perb Members who have not previously seen me only, this offer;

If a Perb member wishes to see me, if they would be willing to spring for a room in a good hotel downtown, I could offer an hour of my time for my regular rate minus what the hotel room cost.

This means Perb members get a chance to see me, and the opportunity to write a review is there. Opportunity only - a review would NOT be expected - but it'll be awfully hard to get any reviews on Perb if there is no opportunity for Perb members to see me at all.

I have a bit of a special circumstance going here, and I'd like to make up for almost a year's worth of wasted time - yet I don't want to be seen as 'buying' reviews.

So my question is; would you see this offer as a legitimate response to strange circumstances; or as me 'buying' reviews?

You just missed it
The girls renting rooms for a couple of days seems to be a popular trend these days especially for the Victoria SP's coming to Vancouver. Are you a contributor that can advertise on the site?

As for reviews, I would go along with VL and just putting the word out that you are looking for reviews is fine.

Thanks guys!

I've done the hotel thing many times where I rent a room, and I have found it problematic - scheduling conflicts mostly, and having people not having the courtesy to confirm appointments with me while I sit there waiting 'til five minutes before next day's checkout trying not to get stuck with the room bill for another night.

Basically, I want to kick start this, and the way I've suggested means the guys can schedule at their convenience rather than me trying to juggle everybody's schedule into a two day thing.

Also, I'm not looking to do a marathon - I only see usually one client per day.

I'm trying to catch up after almost a year of my career was destroyed, so speed is of the essence - any other suggestions?

Yep, I'm a contributor :)

"But what if the hotel cost ... is more than the cost of hour of your time?"

My hour rate is $220. You can get a room at most of the downtown places for around $150 if they have a local resident discount (Le Soleil, Listel)

So my fee would be $220 - $150 = $70. So $70.

OB,

I think it is a good start.., at least you are trying to let the clients to decide whether to post a review, and with your suggestion, I think many would like to make a date with you..........Best of Luck!!!1

How is this an ethical question?

I don't see why that would be a big problem, you can do whatever you want. I think the Rent a decent hotel room for a few days thing would be the easiest idea and you wouldn't have to do a whole lot of travelling (an un-needed expense.)

Thanks you guys and gals...the overall impression I get is that it would be acceptable - so I think I'll go ahead.

I will stick with the gents booking the room though, as I have tried the booking it myself option many times, and have found it lacking. Because of the damage maliciously done on my reputation, I think I'm seen as a risk, or as TOFTT, so it's hard to get enough bookings.

Also, having had to do a consumer proposal back in December (the last option before bankruptcy - yeah, I know it's stupid but I want to pay the money back) I no longer have a credit card, so I have tremendous problems booking any kind of a room, as you can imagine.

Sometimes cash is ok, but they want to see ID, and when they find you're local, they'll refuse you. That's been a real problem.

And that's the last thing I need these days - more problems!

So I will go ahead with the idea. I asked the board because I wanted to know if the idea was ethical, and because I have to rebuild my rep step by step, and think transparency is the best way to do that sucessfully. Also, should it be challenged in the future if I'm reviewed this way, I can refer detractors to this thread.

If anyone would like to contact me further about this, please PM, as I don't want to be seen as using this thread as advertising.

Again, thanks very much for your input and ideas - they really helped :)
