Just a follow up to my question about casts

I`m thinking of doing some extreme sports this year but am hesitant due to the risk of being out of work for several months with a cast.

Has any escort here (who files taxes as either self-employed or as a small business owner) had to claim E.I. due to an injury? If so, what was your experience like?

Any input is appreciated :)

I have to ask .Why would you do some thing where think you could get a sever injury ?

Next question is .. are you paying EI.. premiums If you are .. you know they well only pay you a fraction of what you make .. What they pay is not based on what you claim you make it based on what is the average wage for your declares employment and then it is 70% of that ...

You would be better off with a privet health and wage insurance .. and not pay EI .. think a privet would cost a a few hundred a month , it depends how much you want to receive monthly , also it only pay for a limited period .. and so does EI ..

The best thing is to avoid injury .. Injuries have long term consequences ,, and how can you even gauge how severe an injury maybe . The idea in life it not to put one self in hams way .. Maybe push your limits but all ways know your limitations . Train for some thing first will show you where your limitations are so a person does not get them selves severely injured

It's never been my understanding that selfemployed owner operators are eligible for either contributing or collecting EI. I too would be surprised if indy sps were paying into it, tho someone employed by an agency or mp might be set up with that. I always thought of it as an employee benefit, not a self-employed benefit.

You should check into accident insurance, maybe see what your bank has to offer. I keep getting offers from mine regarding that, it might be more applicable.

I believe for injury or sickness you get 15 weeks max, and the first 2 you dont get paid.
Then you get something like $450 a week.

So best case. You are off 3 months, and they pay you under $6000. You are responsible for tax on that too.

As I dont think it would be easy for an SP to ever claim actual unemployment.......ie deciding she doesn't want to work and going on EI for 30-50 weeks. The only benefits that would be available would be the short term sickness or injury benefits.

If you are paying full premiums are only eligible for benefits in very specific situations, I would look elsewhere.

Sweet, so how do you collect? Do you need a note from a doctor?
The note from your doctor gets you an appointment with THEIR doctor.

In the case of an SP and a cast, say a broken leg, their adjuster would just have to point out that the broken leg doesn't interefere with your ability to do blowjobs and then you'd have to show that you are unable to make the amout that EI would pay you (About 450 / week) due to your injury/illness.

It would take a heck of an injury before an awesome SP like you would not be able to make 450/week just sitting there naked talking to guys for 50 an hour.

Also if I remember, you are a full time student. Last I read, full time students can't claim EI. (yes it's unfair)

All SPs SHOULD have some sort of disability policy. if they can get one, to cover a major injury or illness that was so bad that they really couldn't work, but that would be a lot more than a broken leg or arm.
