I'd really like to know where that kind of ignorance stems from.
I'm inferring that you think coronavirus can only be acquired by those travelling outside of the "country". Are we in April or in August?
If I tell you I have no symptoms and because I'm your regular; therefore, that's ok and let's ignore the fact I may be asymptomatic and you believe I can't infect you, is that right?
Should you check my temperature at the door and because I don't have a fever, all is good? That's like wearing your mask on your chin and not covering your nose. It's really as good as nothing and providing a false sense of security. Our society and culture now is all about your own selfish needs and making yourself feel good, even if it means deceiving yourself. That's alright because most things now are all superficial. It's the current status quo.
It's true. Many who wear masks refuse to social distance and/or wash their hands properly. This is not a myth. It's a fact. It's baffling to me why so many people play Russian Roulette. They are so ego-driven they feel their infallible?
It's like little red hood meeting up with the big bad coronavirus wolf in the forest who's been following her. The overconfident Red says "I'm young, I don't need to self-isolate or play it safe". The big bad wolf responds and says, "I'm following you to Grandma's house".
But whatever, do me a favour. Instead of the illogical reasoning and rationalizing your behaviour, just admit that you don't think this virus is a big deal instead of coming up with these lame reasons to partake in this hobby/career in this dangerous time.
In regards to another poster's comment about most people wearing masks and try to social distance while shopping? Where might that be? Whole Foods, Choices, or Trader Joe's? T&T? Because I can tell you that most people do NOT wear a mask and certainly don't social distance. There are a few exceptions (at this time) in BC, but these exceptions aren't the norm especially at RCSS, No Frills, Save-On, Safeway, Walmart and more.
