Does anyone find dreads attractive?

I think they aren't appealing at all, especially on white women, but they also feel awful, and I can't help but think they are impossible to keep clean.

I love combing my hands through a woman's hair, but handling rope is not fun.

I love dreads. They are a reflection of a persons spirituality and a rejection of western beliefs.
Cultural appropriation occurs all over the world. Here is BC we see white women (and some men) culturally appropriating native art all over the place. Diversity brings crossover of styles and food. I try to look for the beauty in things instead of criticizing what I don’t know about. The commitment and passion required to grow dreads is seldom a fashion statement and more often an expression of beliefs.

Fair enough but from a purely aesthetic point of view, I'm not a fan. However, to each their own. If someone wants dreads, go for it. Diversity and variety are wonderful things. There's something for everyone.

I cranked out quite a few as a teenager to my Bo Derek Poster with her dreads🥰

Half of the time I didnt even notice the style or color of hair, I was too busy doing the thing while looking into eyes.
I suppose they look cool, and wont mind at all.

I mean some people can't pull of certain looks but I have seen girls with dreads that (white girls included) that blew me away. Jus in general I mean, I've never seen a SP with dreads.
As far as touching hair I guess I get it but Ive only really touched if I was asked to pull her hair.
The first SP I showered with had some thing to keep the water off her hair so I've always worried about messing it up

If you have a strong stomach, check out YouTube for cleaning dreadlock videos, some of them are downright disgusting. You have to take proper care of them, not leave them unchecked for years on end. Ultimately it boils down to personal choice. Some people go crazy for the bald look, others spend huge money trying to hold on to or replace their hair. Some folks hate beards, others spend years on them.

I am usually a big fan of live and let live. Many years ago, I worked with a very spoiled/privileged white woman who wore dreads purely for the look. She did not take good care of them and you could smell her from 8 to 10 feet away. Thankfully, I was on the other side of the building, but there were a ton of complaints about her personal hygiene from her co-workers in her area. She tried to claim discrimination, but the hairstyle was just a hairstyle in her case, not a part of her religion or identity, she lost her case and quit the company. I have also known others during my life who kept their dreads immaculate, so it absolutely can be done.

White hair doesn’t dread, it mats. So white people with dreads are literally just walking around with gross matted hair trying to look cool wearing a style that black people have been discriminated against for wearing historically—and still are. Like grow up 😂

A few of my black friends have a couple of terms to describe this phenomenon: Jafakins or Rastafakians.

All hair mats. Hair is hair. The differences are genetic based on the individual which in turn determines how hair mats. When most people think of Caucasian hair they think fine and straight, completely ignoring the fact that millions of caucasians have coarse, tight curls. And Caucasian dreads can literally be created in a day by an experienced stylist, so it doesn’t necessarily require months of not washing. Same with black people. The only difference is if the dreads are formed free flow, letting nature do its thing over time, or if they’re controlled with constant maintenance to create uniformity.

Dreadlocks is one of the few things which turn me off. Can't explain it and I am probably being ignorant but the style just doesn't appeal to me.
