Its an 82 game season, there up lots of ups and downs through the year, injuries play a big part, but they sure look better than last year. Its nice to see them rolling 4 lines.

For the most part different president, different GM, different head coach, different systems, different attitude, different goaltending and several different players.

So overall a different group from last year that has a few base core players remaining. They are playing 4 lines more regularly
I can't argue with that other than to say that sometimes the more things change the more they stay the same. To paraphrase a Canucks marketing slogan "They Are All Still Canucks!"

Yes and there are still many trolls of different team fan boy bases that are of many shapes and many sizes that like to pollute the airwaves and webspace with their negative vibes regarding vancouver.

However, there Must be a bridge and a few goats out there....somewhere. Keep searching you'll find one..lol
And there are still delusional believers who don't see what they're seeing until the final stats are printed.

The team you're seeing now is the team you have. I thought the collapse would come after Christmas, but so be it.

Marginal to horrible goaltending.

Erratic defence.

Tired first line and the rest masquerading as NHL players.

As the season progresses the injuries will take their toll, the Sedins will exhaust themselves as usual, the ones playing over their heads for the first few months will settle into their journeyman reality and the Canucks will fade fro the scene as they always do.

Oh wait - there are always the superstars of the future to rescue them - Zack Kassian and Bo Horvat. Keep hoping.

That's the second time in this thread you have referred to me as a troll. I think you should grow up and realize that just because someone doesn't agree with you, it doesn't make them a troll.

Well they've allowed the pack to catch up but are still in a playoff spot. Probably play with more urgency now. Other teams in division aren't burning it up either, East is winning a lot of the games against the West, so won't need as many points to make the playoffs as last year. No cause for panic. That said, it's a big game against Calgary.

I hope this season is not the repeat of last season. I certainly hope we don't have to call the tow truck again because the wheels are not exactly coming off, yet, but they are certainly wobbling.

Nice to see Edmonton trying to improve by changing the wiper blades although it is the engine that needs an overhaul.

:)

Now the 16 game losing streak like they had up the #2. Not the coaches direct fault but the fault of team management directly.

Who gets canned, Head coach and a goalie coach. Who stays on in their position to continue evaluation of a time the "Crafted together" the two architect buffoons Lowe and MacTavish.

Especially Lowe, he fired MacTavish went through Steve Tambelini as a GM, 3 coaches in Quinn, Renney and Ralph Krueger. Brings MacTavish back as a GM. Mactavish Fires Ralph. As a matter of fact MacTavish was so keen to lock up Eakins he fired the head coach at the time, Ralph Kruger, on Skype. ON SKYPE! MacTavish then hires Dallas Eakins. 2 years later now Fires Dallas Eakins.

Now Installs himself (in an evaluation period)and Todd Nelson as coaches... uhmmm never felt so sorry for Todd Nelson

What a Gong show up the number 2. Makes anything the Canucks or Flames do PALE in comparison.

Last time I tried to change wiper blades to fix the transmission, it didn't work.

Pity to see City of Champions go thru this. Is the owner too visually impaired to see the rinky dink show Kevin Lowe is trying to run?

Katz is too in love with the Oiler old Mystique. He likes hanging around the Alumni who often come to town. That's why he's afraid if he fires MacTavish and Lowe. He'll create a divide between himself and his Alumni buddies. Providing less of an opportunity for his sideshow bob clone son to schmooze with the hockey Elite. Every draft day we get to see him standing there in an oilers sweater with the same draft year # as the kid who worked hard to get drafted. GET OFF THE STAGE!

Actually it's wonderful to watch the city of Champions go through this at an NHL level.

Edmonton Oil Kings won the Memorial Cup this past year 2014. It's great when your Junior team is actually Far Better than your NHL team.

Last Professional Championship to go through that city: Edmonton Eskimos 2005 Grey Cup, before that was the 1991 Stanley Cup championship for the Oilers.

slight edit to your post,Badger.....between the 1990 Stanley Cup and the 2005 Grey Cup garlic city also celebrated Grey Cup wins in 1993&2003.

re my post on Hartley...I didn't intend to imply I thought he was doing a bad job,not at all, just that I'm trying to recall another instance where a coach
gets an extension whilst the team is in a losing streak.

the nb thing in Calgary is that Burke thinks he's doing a good job.

agreed city of champs, a great run...the Esks,5 on the trot,78-82,the Oil s/b/ve 84-88 if Fuhr does what is coached in peewee....hug the post and watch the play.

if he's doing his job Smith's pass doesn't get picked off.

can never figure out why Smith gets 100% of the s..t, fuhr was also at fault.

So you feel all that really needs to be said is.....

So just how far down do you want to go
And we can talk it out over a cup of Joe
And you can look deep into my eyes
Like I was a super-model

Well it's just you and me baby
No one else we can trust
We'll say nothin' to no one
No how or we'll bust
Never crack a smile or flinch or cry
For nobody

So give you I'd card to the border guard
Your alias says you captain John Luke Picard
Of the united federation of planets
'Cause they won't speak English any ways

Everybody knows
That the world is full of stupid people
So meet me at the mission at midnight
We'll divvy up there

Yeah, everybody knows
That the world is full of stupid people
Well I got the pistol so I get the pesos
Yeah that seems fair

So put the sugar in the tank of the sheriff's car
We'll slash the deputy's tires
They won't get very far
When they finally get the word
That there's been a hold-up

So give you I'd card to the border guard
Your alias says you captain John Luke Picard
Of the united federation of planets
'Cause they won't speak English any ways

Everybody knows
That the world is full of stupid people
So meet me at the mission at midnight
We'll divvy up there

And everybody knows
That the world is full of stupid people
Well I got the pistol so I get the pesos
Yeah that seems fair

And that seems fair
And that seems fair
And that seems fair, yeah yeah

So give you I'd card to the border guard
Your alias says you captain John Luke Picard
Of the united federation of planets
'Cause they won't speak English any ways

And everybody knows
That the world is full of stupid people
So meet me at the mission at midnight
We'll divvy up there

Well everybody knows
That the world is full of stupid people
Well I got the pistol so I get the pesos
Yeah that seems fair

And that seems fair
And that seems fair
Well that seems fair

About right.......That the world is full of stupid people. All you really needed to to say, but you proved your point. That seems fair
I think you misunderstood. I wasn't referring to you. I was agreeing with you on the Oilers, their management, their owner, their old boys club etc. And in general that the hockey world is full of stupid people. Too much nepotism. More who you know than what you know. Can you relate?

tension in the air for tonight's game.
Canucks need to have one of those high scoring 7-5 games
and come out on the winning end. get the boys back on track.

burger, pints and maybe a massage afterwards (if Canucks win).

enjoy the game, boys.

Check your closet..:)
One of my favorite Sp that retired use to play Hockey Sex in Canada.

She would get her regular 1hr donation for the duration of the game.
I would bring the drinks and snacks.

Rules were.

1. You could only wear 3 pieces of clothing each.
2. If her team scored, I would take a piece of clothing off and donate to her team $20
3. If my team scored, she would take a piece of clothing off.

If her team won. COLD SHOWER
If my team won.. WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO

God I miss that...:)

I remember one game where it was 4-0 after 15 minutes of play for my team.

Still looking for a new SP to play...any takers...:)

Cheers
