I still feel Canucks need one good solid defense man to be competitive.

:)
I still feel that way. IMO, they don't have that one big no 1 D man. On the positive, good goaltending and the goal scoring is spread out. Which can be a good news bad news kind of scenario. I will stay on the positive side for now.

My concerns going forward is that their defensive zone coverage is still pretty crummy. The way they attack the forwards reminds me of something you would see in beer league. And Kevin freaking Bieksa needs to get it together. He's been horrible this season. He looks as lost as Edler did last year.

I'm happy Lack finally got a win.
My thoughts exactly!. This is nothing against Bieksa, but he is not THE No 1 D man.

good road trip for the boys.

a puck moving defenseman is needed–
not easy to watch when Bieksa, Hammer, Sbisa and Edler coming
out of the zone.

nice start for the Orcas.

the upcoming road trip will be a real test.I hope they do well against tough opposition.
there is NO WAY I would've thought they'd get 6 out of 8 possible points, but they did.

so often, after a good road trip, a team has a letdown in the first home game back.hope this doesn't happen tomorrow.

The Sens are a very beatable team, even with our injuries. Had this been Vigneault coaching I'd be concerned about effort and taking a mediocre team too lightly. Thankfully WD doesn't tolerate that kind of attitude. They need all the points they can get right now as inevitably the Nucks will hit a rocky patch and heads will roll.

hi Peyton

I should've said the home-ice-letdown is not unique to the Canucks but is something that seems to happen to many teams returning home after a good road trip.

Having said that,I can't bring out stats to back it up,so it is a subjective statement.

Willie D. will no doubt discourage complacency but human nature is a strange thing.

Depth guys are stepping up,nice to see.

nice to see burrows getting back into his groove a little. that was a deadly deflection last night - changing a high shot through traffic into a dropping shot through legs and skates - anderson didn't stand a chance :thumb:

watch right at the end of the clip

I was lucky to be at both the LA and Anaheim games. Not much to say about the LA game, it basically sucked in every way. While they came back with a good showing in Anaheim they have to solve these lapses where they just self destruct.

Not sure if it showed on TV but there were at least 1000 Canucks fans, in jerseys, at both games. Kinda quiet in LA, for obvious reasons, but wild in Anaheim. Peyton, you would have been proud, they unmercifully road Kessler every single time he touched the puck. To the point some Ducks fans were laughing about it, it was so relentless. Of course, missing on the shoot out, a better ending could not have been scripted!!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2: He's now sporting a big fumanchu pornstache, looks like an even bigger Ahole than when he was here.
That's funny, priceless in fact. Great to hear their games are attended by our fans :D

Perry has been cleared by team docs and will probably play in ther next game. Beauchemin will probably be cleared by the time they come to Van. Will be a different team for sure than they saw in Anaheim. Will be a good game.
I believe Perry had the mumps, and it's speculated this whole illness thing stemmed from when the Blues played in Anaheim early in the season. St. Louis got wrecked by a nasty viral infection that spread to the whole team.

For clarification, Perry has been cleared to practice, not play. Beauchemin has not.

I'm thinking it originated from Anaheim. Minnesota also had players also get sick after visiting Anaheim.

Given we know of three teams that had players with mumps-like symptoms, you don't want to risk that happening to the team.
I think I saw some Blues fans mention (hockey forums) that it stemmed from a preseason game against Minnesota so maybe the Wild got a bit too much Wild.

Now were being the CDC of the NHL, hehe.

people are trying to compare teams to the Cubs.

I think the Cubs defy comparison.

Like Hatrick I've been to Wrigley, where the game is almost secondary to the "Wrigley experience".
One of the games I saw was in 2008 when they clinched their division, capacity crowd approx. 39,000 and NOBODY was leaving early.
the Cubs came out of their dugout spraying champagne on fans in the 1st few rows of the stands, great times.

there may be brighter days ahead, with the signing of Joe Maddon and I believe they have accumulated a lot of young talent.
Wrigley is undergoing some work at the moment, the old girl will have a different look in '15,but will still exude ambiance.

Uhm soo what. Big deal. Kings, Blackhawk, Boston this year have had 3-4 game loss streaks. Don't see your point. Unless of course your point was just to troll in the first place.
Just thinking about last year's collapse. Which I pointed out earlier in this thread. Not sure how that's trolling.
