^^^ wow, this guys never heard of someone accepting a bribe before. He must think it only happens in movies and crime novels.
A 3rd world doctor might accept a bride for the same reason a cop, a politician, a judge, a lawyer, a TSA officer, a city council member would accept one, creed.
Now we know he's not being serious. Good one, you got us.
Anyone anywhere "might" accept a bribe. What we should want to know is how likely it is
in this particular set of circumstances.
I'd say it's extremely unlikely a Thai hooker i've taken to a world class hospital would
attempt to bribe a doctor there to change her HIV positive test to negative, let alone
succeed in such a devious plot.
For the following reasons:
(1) Thailand police are notorious for accepting bribes. Thai doctors are not.
(2) Thailand police are paid very low salaries. Thai doctors are not, especially in such an
expensive hospital as i described. So they lack the same motivation to accept a bribe.
(3) Aside from the obvious moral objections for an average person to abstain from conspiring
to subject people to HIV infection via such a bribery,
(4) doctors are in the business of curing diseases, not being accomplices in spreading them.
(5) one country you especially don't want to end up in prison is Thailand.
(6) Thai people tend to be quite religious & superstitious, mostly Buddhist, & believe in karma.
There is a huge difference between (A) a policeman accepting a small bribe to let a traffic violation
go, or 70,000 baht to let off a foreigner with possession of a bit of pot and (B) being responsible for
exposing others to HIV which could result in them becoming infected.
(7) Thai hookers i'm familiar with tend not to have the kind of money that would be within miles of being sufficient to even provide a small temptation to a well paid doctor. The vast majority of SP's spend it, or give it away to family, soon after they get it. They don't pad their bank accounts.
(8) Even if she (A) had this kind of money, it is very unlikely she'd attempt to bribe a doctor.
She'd also have to be (B) a very wicked person, and (C) willing to take the huge risk that she
could pull this off, that the doctor wouldn't out her or at least refuse her request.
(9) Moreover, the bribe would be pointless if its potential benefits could not be reasonably thought to exceed her expectations of a return on it. If her client is only in town for a few days, or constantly changes girls, how does she know that the donations she recieves will exceeed the amount of the bribe? He could dump her the same day, for any number of reasons.
(10) If she knew she's HIV positive before going for the test, i think it unlikely she'd be willing to go through with the testing and risk being outed if she wants to keep her status a secret to the client & her friends in the business, etc. She'd probably refuse to go for testing (and BTW would probably also be on HIV meds that reduce the probability of transmitting HIV).
If she didn't know she was HIV positive before the test, then a bribe at that point would likely be a
waste of money, since she's most likely negative.
If she waits till after the test results are known & positive, it may be too late to attempt any bribe.
(11) The difficulty of attempting a bribe when girls are with me is that i'm with them at the hospital
while they're waiting and whenever they see the doctor. If they handed him money i'd probably see it.
Now perhaps it might be beginning to dawn on you the difficulties with such a bribe succeeding,
and the unliklihood it "might" ever happen. Something like this, expressed mathematicly:
1/1000 X 1/100 X 1/500 = 1/50,000,000
IOW, a 1 in a 50,000,000 (one in fifty million) chance.
I think i can live with that.
Especially with things like the circumcision condom as backup.
