Yes, a money grab. Who owns Haliburton? Who has a stake in oil prices. Never mind what the war cost taxpayers, but who benefited from the war.

I don't understand the last sentence of your post...what are you trying to say?
Indeed. The entire Bush presidency was about redistribution of wealth from the poor and middle-class to the rich.

However, I always thought the Iraq war was a personal matter for Bush. That he thought he was making up for his dad not taking out Sadam back in the Gulf War.

seen the price of oil recently ? Hal is down about 45% too and anyone who wants to own Halliburton owns Halliburton, its a public company.

What I am trying to say is that Bush did have UN approval.

Bush gave Africa more inflation adjusted money to Africa then any other president. Saddam Hussain was a criminal, admit it.

Don't jump to conclusions. I have always been glad that Saddam is gone. He was a scumbag.
Yup, Bush spent a bunch of money fighting AIDS in Africa. If that hadn't meant dumping millions into the pockets of American pharmaceutical companies, would he have done it? I'll answer for you: no.

I find it fascinating to watch the recent resurfacing of Cheney in the news as he confronts Obama on his terror policies. He is once again trying to use fear to motivate americans.

And Bush is relatively respectful of Obama. In the final days of his presidency, Bush gave interviews where he was introspective and less self assured. I think he was less under the sway of Cheney and perhaps questioning his legacy.

I wonder if Bush is now having troubles sleeping ? Cheney....not so much. lol.

Well that would be my pocket and any other person that wants to own a pharma company.

Maybe Cheney thinks the federal governments main job is national security hence the terror discussions. Or " fear " discussions in your case

Makes total sense that you would be pro-Bush then. You're exactly who he was looking out for. Smart move on your part!

Now, the other 99% of the population...
The other 99% of the pop probably owns some pharma stock in their pentions that they pay into.

Except you know, the Global Gag Order prevented sexual healthcare if the organisation provided abortion or birth control in addition to condoms.

Bush spent money to fight AIDS because it put money in the pocket of pharmaceutical companies which are a ruthless organisation.

Example: Domperidone is illegal in the US now because the company that owns Reglan also owns a formula company (baby formula is a pharmaceutical) Domperidone can increase breastmilk production as an off-label usage, which Reglan does as well. However Reglan crosses the brain and has more side effects, so women chose Domperidone. Less Reglan sold, less baby formula sold. So the makers of Reglan cited the fact that if you have 80x the dosage, via IV you would die. Now it's illegal. Reglan sales and baby formula sales are up.

Or how about the fact that every so many years when the patent is up, the drug makers come up with some random new usage for their drug (i.e. Prozac becoming Serfem for PMDD), or an "SR", "XL", "CR" version (Wellbutrin, Wellbutrin SR, Wellbutrin XL). Wellbutrin also = Zyban the smoking cessation drug.
Don't believe all that nonsense just because you want to. Show me one article stating that in a reputable news paper.

Obama reversed the Global Gag Rule.

So anything that gives out condoms, or treatment for STD was banned from receiving tax dollars if they also mentioned abortion.
Anyone who is careless enough to have an unplanned pregnancy should suffer and bear the consequences of their irresponsible behavior. Why should everyone subsidies this mistake ?

Why can't my mistakes get a subsidy ?

You already get subsidies. We were just talking about the handouts from the government to the pharmaceutical companies a couple days ago.

Is it that socialism should only be about giving money to rich people? :p

So I guess that means if someone chooses to go mountain bike riding, and crashes going down a hill, and suffers severe injuries, we should just ignore it, because they chose this irresponsible behaviour.

Healthcare is public in Canada so the biker would have his medical covered but that does not mean that he will have an instant flow of income for the rest of his life.

Disability would kick in if he was not able to work. I get where you're coming from. When you see all of these youngins wanting kids thinking that welfare will pay the bills, it drives me nuts.
