Liberal leader as in a leader who is liberal or as a BC Liberal leader. I have no doubts about her being the former. :)
With her brains, beauty and support....(the fan club you started)....I wouldn't bet against her on either if she went in a political direction as a career originally.. after all she is one motivated individual...but yes the former easily.....grin

Anything that supported Stephen Harper doesn't deserve my cock's attention.

Too bad to anybody who voted for her to be their MP. She lied, was unfaithful, walked out on you, and now you'll have to pay for the replacement, while she goes on to a new lover.

Politics is just like real life.

Oh Dennis Watson is a loon. But I'll give the guy some credit. He'll step in a pile of shit no one else will. I mean the guy had legal action taken against him by the Hells Angels. He's a source of information. And trust me, cops, feds, hackers, etc, pay close attention.
The problem with being crazy is that no one takes your message seriously, even if it is valid.

Lied and walked out? Maybe but I don’t think so. She recognized the conservatives and the new leader for what they are and took the opportunity to leave. She made a wise decision in my books. Would you stick around to support a conservative loser for the next few years. I think she wants to do something for her province and this is a far better way than being a useless backbencher for years to come. So she made a wise decision. Her riding here is strong in the liberal direction so I suspect we will see a liberal candidate take her place. That will give us constituents a voice that can be heard and heeded.
But the question of wanting her for premier? Just remember she close all the massage places in Surrey which are rapidly reopening now. I’m concerned about what she might do on the provincial level.

She knew Harper was gone after the last election. Why didn't she run for the Conservative leadership, then? She barely won (500 votes) a riding that is one of the safest Conservative ridings in the province. It is not a federal Liberal riding.

And yes, anyone who voted for her believing her promise to be their MP was lied to. She also lied about caring for the taxpayer, by triggering a by-election. Her move is nothing more than personal ambition.

Pretty much sums it up.
BTW, did you state your position on T8E's perception of Dianne's hotness?
I say- attractive MILFY type, not a dog but definitely not hot.

Thank you for trying to get everyone to refocus on the thread. :)

Your welcome- and I'm as guilty as anyone of thread-jacking with my "occasional" ranting.
But there's enough political discourse happening elsewhere in the Lounge.

I have always admired her for her leadership and it is nice to see her jumping into the leadership race.

I do have kind of mixed feelings though. I know it is totally legal, but this practice of resigning as an MP to join provincial politics or vice versa kind of irks me a bit. I do believe that she has much more to offer than just being a Conservative back-bencher. She has experience in leadership.

Do you think she will be the one to lead Liebrals/Libel-ers back into power?

I saw her interview with Global news this morning. Breakfast seemed tastier than before, for some reason. I know I am being sexist here but with her, I have one more reason to be interested in BC politics. I think BC politics is going to get 'hot' again. For some reason, I think she looks nicer with a partial smile on her face.

What do you think?

I think that Dianne Watts has made the correct choice for herself. Andrew Scheer proves himself to be a right-wing nutcake every time he speaks. I think that he'll accomplish what Kim Campbell couldn't and lead the Conservatives to 0 (Zero) seats in the next federal election.

Can she win against Horgan's NDP? It depends on when Horgan calls the next provincial election. It also depends on how badly Weaver damages Horgan with his "support". Dianne Watts was effective in Surrey as Mayor, if she's given enough time after February 3, 2018 - she'll have a chance to improve the quality of BC Liberal candidates.
