We close up review threads if there's a need for more than minor moderation. Flame wars, name calling, the unpaid lady constantly replying. We have anywhere from 2 to 30 or more threads that need moderation every day. If we have to come back to the same one over and over, it's getting locked up. It's a judgement call sometimes, especially if there's a big he said/she said thing going on. There will often be a comment from the mod when it's closed, but not always, depends on the situation and how busy we are.I think Forum Mod is amazing. 10/10 ymmv.
Searching hasn’t been a huge issue for me, except when you hit those long review threads, like looking for someone and a recommendation/review is buried in a side discussion in someone else’s review.
It’s always good to have some discussion on the review threads, folks asking for particular details (was the SP using a four or a five string banjo?) but once it gets too long it’s not useful.
So, how do they get cut off?
