I like Phnom Phen chicken wings...Phnom phen at Chinatown. It is camboian. It is the best.
Would that be "Pho Central"? Couple of doors over from Stephos Taverna. There is a good place for Pho on Davies St. downtown. I just can't remember the name. That place is always packed.
Pho Hong used to be my favorite but I haven't been there for almost a year. Their soup is not as good as a few years back and lack of consistency.I eat a lot of pho at a lot of places, and the best I've found is Pho Hong on the north side of Kingsway at 5975, just east of Imperial. They have another location at 6348 Fraser at 47th that I've not been to.
James Barber used to say the one on the east side of Main at around 21st was the best in town, but this was many years ago (he's been dead for quite some time). I found the food extraordinary, although the place was often severely in need of a thorough cleaning. I'm not sure the place is even there any more.
There's one at Crystal Mall, Willingdon at Kingsway that has a wider variety than most. I think it's called Green Bamboo, and it's not in the mall, but there is a street entrance off of Willingdon, across from the gas station. It's quite tiny and it is often hard to find a table during the lunch hour.
By the way, it's not pronounced FOE, but rather the way a British person would say "fur."
It's actually Gold Train Express. They say they're open 24-hours, but several times I've found the door locked at around 7 am. They've just opened another location on Kingsway between Wilson and Olive called Pho 24 Express.Pho Hong used to be my favorite but I haven't been there for almost a year. Their soup is not as good as a few years back and lack of consistency.
I now days go to Golden express on Kingsway and Joyce, where the London Drug is located. I foudn their soup is always hot. Also, this place is open 24 hrs. It is good to go there after hockey game or pooning. However, keep your eyes to yourself and don't look around too much especially at night. I have seen some scary ppl there around 3am ...
Do you mean Pho Trang An?Yes the one by the liquidation place with all the adders in the little strip mall on kingsway/clarke area.
Yap. And for me, the soup must be hot and with good taste. The trick is finding a good butcher to provide the tripe and tendon.

Beef stock with rice noodles and other stuff thrown in. Though I'd never eat it myself you could make it at home to a good standard pretty easily I think. Just chuck it all in a pot and heat, noodles go in near end of cooking time.

Oh oops, go figure there's more than one pho place across from the mall. Thai son is one block east of pho linhNope, just looked it up.. it's called Pho Linh.![]()
