one pound of body fat is 3500 calories
An ounce of fat is about 220 calories. The same as a chocolate bar or a can of Monster.
Before eating it or slamming it, picture an ounce of flab being added to your belly.

I was watching some youtube videos on fasting. A guy was saying a lot of whole grain and whole wheat bread is not really what it claims to be and isn't good for you. I looked at the label on my IGA multigrain bread and saw that there was 12% sodium in it. Which doesn't seem good.
So the guy on youtube recommended Ezekiel bread as being the best. I bought some at Whole Foods last night in the frozen bread section and noted it only has 3% sodium.
Had a slice of toast this morning. Tasted fine. Just like whole grain bread. Only side effect was that I suddenly felt this Old Testament urge to kill my brother by smashing his head in with a rock.

as a personal trainer and dietician. I would strongly recommend not to follow this pseudo science.

Yeah, duh and thanks Tips. I mentioned that the suggested diet I posted was for cleansing for an Ayahuasca experience I completed. It is a great ump start to not only cleanse the body, but
begin a suitable routine to integrate into your lifestyle.

So what did you eat?

To cut weight. The formula is simple. Energy in = Energy out. If you don't get enough energy in; your body will burn fat. So you must reduce your energy in, and increase your energy out. To burn energy, take a walk after supper and don't eat anything after last meal ( a form of fasting which is good for the body). Drink water.

Things to cut out:
1. Sugar (or any thing with sugar in it),
2. Carbohydrates (Potatoes, rice, breads);
3. Precessed Meats (any processed meat- stick to hamburger or steak cuts);
The body burns the sugar, then carbs, then meat for energy and then rest of what you eat (veggies), and if there is none it burns body fat.

The thing is it takes discipline to loose weight. You have to cut the "energy in", do moderate exercise (walking on regular basis) and eat better/smarter (also cut down size of what you eat too eg. an 3-5 oz steak instead of a 10 oz. steak).

Most pops have a high amount of sugar in them. Next Diet pop, has a sugar substitute in it. The sugar substitutes have not been fully vetted, and have been mostly rubber stamped by food agencies in the US and Europe and Canada. See Netflix documentary on Sugar. Sugar affects cells in a certain way, the sugar substitutes have been checked against how sugar affects the cell, not in actually how the sugar substitute affects the cell.

A word on water. Water will have fluoride or chlorides in it. These chemicals kill bugs in water etc., but the chlorides will build up in the body and will do damage to cells over time. Time and accumulation of chlorides will harm the body.

The Canada food guide gives: (this is an ideal plate for a healthy body that does not need to loose weight)
1/2 plate --- veggies
1/4 plate --- carbs
1/4 plate --- meats (protein)

Most fat people eat:
1/2 plate ---- carb
1/2 plate --- meats (protein)
Yup most fat people need to eat more veggies and even go beyond the Canada food guide to eating more like 5/8-3/4 plate of veggies. Eliminating the carbs.
Please note that certain veggies do have alot of carbs in them too. Carbs are preferred by people because they don't take long to prepare them. They are off the shelf type of food.

To loose weight you have to put time and effort in. This comes in the form of food preparation and moderate exercise.

Also please note I'm not a fan of the Canada Food guide. Reason it is biased by corporate and government interference, mainly the dairy attribute to the guide. I would like to say that any new house or apartment construction should have a 20 ft square room hothouse, for growing fresh vegies in winter.

Buy a bread maker, cheap and will pay for itself.
If you make your own beead you know exactly what is in it. There are thousands of recipes online. Fresh bread is nothing like store bought crap.
Bonus: it makes your house smell nice!

So what did you eat?
I cut out all the items and categories from the Shaman's diet guide. What I stuck to for almost 2 weeks was brown rice, (*I found out I like quinoa) chicken, a bit of fish, lots of raw,
steamed vegetables, fruit and eggs. Anything I cooked was seasoned with either light olive oil, Himalayan salt/pepper, thyme, oregano and lemon juice. I drank nothing but water.

My cheats were peanut butter, chai tea and popsicles. Now that I am back from Sin City which I still ate pretty well, splurged on some booze, I am ready to integrate back into my active lifestyle,
eat a balanced diet, moderate the booze intake. I told myself I'm going to be in a helluva good physique when I turn 50yrs old in 2 years.

Not sure if it is allowed but I follow a guy on YouTube, Dr. Berg. I also stopped drinking
Pop and cut Rice ( I am chinese), takes a bit of time for the body to get use to it but I seem healthier. Did lower numbers on certain health issues.

"Dr" Berg. He plays one on Youtube for sure.

But yes, I agree with the no soda thing :) - I quit it 6 years ago. The biggest help in my case was making plain carbonated water instead. Super cheap, no side effects (even according to "Dr" Berg), and it makes drinking more water fun.

I tried no soda and after 1-2 weeks there a craving that sets in
For some reason it’s coca-cola that the first soda that I want to go back to rather than the others
I swear there something addictive in coca-cola
Same with Tim’s coffee. There must be some mystery ingredient(s) there to make me drink these products

Tim’s must have a mystery ingredient, nobody would crave it for the taste.

That's great to hear about your decision to quit soda! Cutting out sugary drinks can definitely have a positive impact on your skin and overall health. I haven't personally quit soda, but I've heard from others that their skin improved after quitting. As for handling arguments, taking a step back and not engaging with negativity is a wise approach. It's all about finding what works best for your well-being.

Haven't had any desire for pop since my post. Only a red bull on long drives once a month so I don't fall asleep at the wheel. I will say my face feels a bit fuller in the cheeks.
