CTV has gotta be the biggest bunch of hacks out there (although you could really say that about all mainstream media). It doesn't take an expert journalist to know that any good news story incorporates both sides to the story. No matter how many people agree with one side, you always show the other side. Well apparently CTV doesn't know this. They make a big show of this story, and of course, they say it's all in the name of protecting women from exploitation! Well there's not even a mention of what happens to the women once these places are shut down. Oh, and showing these women's faces on TV is a GREAT way to help them out of exploitation. God it just makes you wanna hit your head against a brick wall!!

Both KK Acupuncture and Water Club have put themselves in a bad position to begin with: KK for the stupidity of doing insurance receipts, and Water Club for operating out of a major hotel. However you have to wonder where they got their intel, and PERB has probably contributed to both of these places being shut down.

They don't really have to search very far. The places advertise, probably on CL.

perb would tell them ahead of time what they think is happening actually does, they always seem so shocked and surprised by it when "they" uncover these "hidden" stories.

Prostitution must be embraced and respected upon, Shame on CTV for its lack of respect on human habits.

Resurrecting this old thread just to mention that I had a room on the 11th floor of the Radisson a few nights ago, so I was walking past the entrance to the Water Club every time I went to or from the elevator. The garish lighting was still on, and even the "Open" sign was lit up. However, there were a couple of paper signs stuck up saying that the Water Club had moved to the Blue Sea location. I can't imagine what an amalgamation of the Water Club and Blue Sea would be like, but I'm not interested enough to investigate.

They are trying to tell people whether or not it is a good societial moral conduct because prostitution is illegal in many countries in the world. And because of this, should we legalize it or not.

I don't like the idea of patronizing establishments were vulnerable women from foreign countries are being exploited by pimps or immigration contractors.

It's already legal in Canada.
It is more that prostitution is not illegal in Canada.

It is not specifically legal nor illegal, but all sorts of activity around it is illegal.

If prostitution were specifically legal, there would for sure be regulations....

not to forget income tax collection (lol).

But if I shouldn't patronize my local Tim Hortons, where should I get my cup of joe in the morning???

Starbucks?

Somehow, I don't think being paid to roll-up-the-rim is quite the same as being required to roll-on-the-rubber.

I did say local. I really cannot spare the ten hours to drive to the nearest Starbucks & back each morning... Am I to take it that you feel that some forms of exploitation are better than others and thus shouldn't be scrutinized?
Some are a bit more sensitve than others. All deserve some scrutiny.
