Marylin Manson's cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" is much better than the original. Ditto for A Perfect Circles new cd, which is mostly covers of political songs from the 60s 70s and 80s. Orgy's "Blud Monday" beats out the original anyday. And there's a cover of The Beatles "Elanor Rigby" that I hear sometimes when I go out that is great, ditto for a "Tainted Love" remix, done by Marylin Manson if memory serves. Does the original much justice. It's all personal preference. But in my humble opinion, I like any cover that stays true to the original in feeling and poetry of music itself, and that has a new upbeat, modern twist to it. Probably why I liked the above covers so much...
