Special Ladies has increased their rates - added a 45 minute rate and lost my business in the process. Too bad.

I'm sorry you feel that way CT. Let's look at some facts tho'.
They've been around 6, if not 7 or 8 years. This is their first increase. I can't think of a single thing that I buy today that was the same price back in '97 or '98. Take Starschmucks for example. They keep increasing their prices, and, as an extra kick in the head, their cup sizes have gotten smaller.
The 45 minute rate was probably installed for the convenience of the clients. Those who need longer than a half hour, but possibly can't afford the increase still have an option.
I've just browsed thru other SP websites and I'm thinking that 220 for a non rushed, MSOG session with a quaility lady in quality accomodations is still a pretty good deal.

Exactly Dirk. In the case of Special Ladies, over 8 years that is an increase of only 2.5% annually. About the same as rent, cost of living, etc. increases are each year.
Not sure if I even want to weigh in here as Dakota30 has pretty much summed it up.

We have actually been considering this for some time, but have pretty much been absorbing the increase in expenses ourselves. We always have an upscale place for you to visit, always clean, always friendly, always top level service, always privacy guaranteed. We did some comparisons at MP's in our area and we are now at par with their donations and we know we offer a far better sevice than they do.

As I see why up the rates? I agree there are a lot of expenses that the SP's has to pay as a result of their choice to be in this business. But the way I see it, as for myself it is not worth upping the rates to compare with the ofters out there. Sure I can up the rates anywhere from 20 to 50, but is it really worth it in the long run. I myself dont see it to be. Yea the extra money is great at the time, but do I wanna lose that client all together because of the lil bit of extra pocket change. I see it as he might ask himself "should i stay with this one, or go for my second choice who is 20 cheaper." Like I said, losing out on that potential client seeing you regularily , then to him not seeing the SP at all.... but it's an economic choice to be made, and it's not worth it to me.

Problem solved, move to Victoria! several years ago there was a wonderful sp by the name of Audrey Monarch charging 200-225/hr now she is back, still wonderful, beautiful etc... but working at SU as Tamara 160/hr!!!!!

Most SPs fees increase in Vancouver whereas it is decreasing in Victoria. As you can see from BC Darlings, a couple of SPs used to charge $180 plus and now they keep on advertising special rate $150 or even $80 for a 20 minutes special!
For me,I will never visit anyone who is lowering their rate to attract clients. If they are highly in demand,why should they lower their rate the first place ?
If someone is good and even getting better,then one is deserved to have an increase. Imagine you work for a boss who has never increased your salary for the last five years????Then either your boss is stingy or you have no prospect in life!

But seriously folks, SL has been amongst the cream of the crop for quite a while. Very nice facility, even though it is over a bridge and in the burbs. Hit the time right, and it's 30 min from downtown VR. Hit the time wrong and, well, maybe you should pay the extra in town rate. Then again, any idea how much of the Lower Manland population resides or works south or east of that bridge? Higher than most will think!
Top end ladies, top end service. If they have boosted the rate by a green or so, they are still priced well below many of the self proclaimed "top" providers in Vancouver.
Not to slag the "in town" girls, but I've never had a bad time at SL, and there's been more than enough dissappointment "in town". If I hadn't chosen to quit playing in the Vancouver market, they'd be at or near the top of my frequent flyer list. Especially Allison!

I would hardly call a $20 increase after eight years a gouge. But I guess if you are a blue light special kinda client, it is. However Special Ladies has always prided themselves with being high end, top quality and upscale. So maybe you don't even need to concern yourself with the increase.
