am i the only fan of House?
Most definitely not. I don't watch much network television these days because it seems to be getting worse with each passing year. The really good stuff (Deadwood, The Sopranos, Brotherhood, Dexter, Rescue Me, etc.) is being produced by HBO, Showtime and other networks that don't have to cowtow to the standards that handcuff the over-the-air networks or channels like A&E that are part of basic cable in the USA and therefore may be watched by children. (Oh the horror ... little Johnny heard the "f" word!!)
But there are still a few shows on network television worth watching and House is right at the top of the list, IMO. I enjoy the Hugh Laurie character because he's cantankerous, cynical and doesn't suffer fools gladly. It's always nice to see oneself mirrored on TV, though unlike me, House is almost always right. And how can you not like a show that doesn't assume the viewer has an IQ of 85? It's the co-creation of Paul Attanasio (Homicide: Life On The Street ... a truly great TV series) and Bryan Singer (director of "The Usual Suspects") so I guess that shouldn't be a surprise.
It's on a dwindling list of shows I still watch that NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox air, though. For the record, the others are The Simpsons (still first rate after all these years), My Name Is Earl (the "Cops" episode last week had me actually laughing out loud) and The Office (if there's a sexier woman on TV these days than Jenna Fischer {Pam}, I've yet to see her, though the picture of Jennifer Morrison {Cameron on House} to open this thread shows just how damn fine she is too).
