Maybe I could have the summers installed......then 10 minutes later have them change over to my winters (which I would drive in with), then in spring have them change back to summer tires. I think the labour cost of all this nonsense, would actually make the sale worthwhile.
whew, a lot of bother, but it would probably be do-able

once done though, the future benefits of the low-cost seasonal change-overs would pay off

Yeah I was at the actual shop. Buying extra rims would make the sale price not worth it. I don't think it would work anyways, I have 17 in rims, but if people upgrade they always go to 18 or bigger. The car has very large brakes and the stock 17s are the only 17s that will fit.

Look on Kijiji for a set of used rims for the summer tires....I had to do this recently and I scored a full set
of rims specifically for my car.....if they come with decent tires then use them...if the tires are nearly worn out buy the new tires from Costco and have them installed....if you run 2 sets of tires on your car you ideally need 2 sets of rims.

So Costco has summer tires for my car on sale. I will need new summer tires this year. They have the set I want, best price, and on sale.
The sale ends Dec 31.

These are summer only tires.

I asked if I can pay now, and have them installed after winter is over.
This is not allowed, as they can't "store" them for me. They must be installed when purchased.

I asked can I buy the tires, take them home, and then have them installed either by them, or another shop, at a later date.
NOPE. That would void all warrantees.

Just shock my head and left.
Confirm with another guy or another Costco that you can't take them now, and installation at a later date. Last year I bought 2 tires on sale, held them, had them installed at a different Costco even. Also, you might be able to order the sale tires you want on line; you have to pick them up at a warehouse anyways. I do suggest to maybe prepay the installation just so you can get their price on mounting/balancing and no extra charge for nitrogen which is by far the best.

If it's the Bridgstone $17.50 off deal, be patient, it's almost on all the time; and sometimes they add an extra bonus (last year I think it was a first aid kit and 4 cans of invisible glass if 4 tires were purchased). Finally, I'm in Calgary, but is a US Costco near?

The last time there, one lady stood in the check-out line up with nothing and kept yelling to her husband down the aisles as he was shopping and refused to get out of the line when it was her turn but her man hadn't finished shopping. The manager had to come down and threaten to throw them out.
That would be awesome to have the bi¥ch try that in front of me.

After experiencing the US costco I am done wasting my time on the canadian produce. They have more grassfed beef in the US stores, heck they even have grass fed dog treats... oh and did I mention pet medicine is on the shelves there? Selection is soooo much better. Coconut oil by the tub just stuff i've never seen here.

I plan on going to the US on a 3 day road trip this spring/summer with the main goal
of hitting a Costco and maxxing out my duty free allowance.

Costco in Canada rocks....Costco in the USA takes it to another level.

I gave up my membership because it was impossible just to buy a couple of hundred bucks of what I actually needed. I walked out of there feeling like Kramer in Seinfeld all the time with a jar of pickles big enough to feed an army.

BTW my local butcher kicks their ass. Aged beef at the same or better price cut however I want it.

I don't miss it one bit and I feel better supporting local businesses not some US box store.

If you hit the US costco dont forget to load up on mexican cane sugar cokes in the glass bottles :)
I have actually seen those discussed on a completely unrelated web board. The coke available to both US
and Canadian consumers use high fructose corn syrup as the sweetener whilst the coke made in Mexico
is made with cane sugar and as you pointed out still comes in glass bottles.Pretty had to find in the US.

Definatly on the list though.

What does the security guy do when he checks your receipt? Why is he there? Its not like he actually does an inventory check of your cart - he just looks at it for 1/3rd of a second then draws a couple random circles on the receipt. I have never, never seen him actually do a realistic inventory check of me or anyone's purchases. Why is he there?

I spoke with an employee in the Bellingham one once about how one family bought an entire flat....yes...a flat of milk. It was something ridiculous like 100gallons..... They used a hand forklift to truck it out to the parking lot.

Speechless.

A significant Costco plus!!!

We are not members, but we purchase our presciption drugs at Costco. The dispensing fee is $5.99 and most drugs we must purchase cost less than at other pharmacies.
