So hypothetically you are looking to purchase a new convertible for summer use only.
Price is not an issue.
It needs to seat 3 people.
Is being sold currently.
Comfortable for occasional longer road trips.

What would you choose?

I really like the BMW Z4!! I drove a 74 MGB as a daily driver up until about 8 yrs ago, it was awesome. Love to get my hands on another one, or a bug eye sprite.

A V8 Mustang is the best bang for your buck. Car is iconic and they eventually become collectable. Huge aftermarket support. Ownership ranges from rednecks with a room temperature IQ to the likes of Richard Hammond of Top Gear and The Grand Tour fame.

I would never own a convert but highly recommend the Dodge Challenger. Love my 2015 SRT 392.
Sits on a Mercedes C class chassis, 500hp hemi, 288 kph so far, vicious 6 piston brembo brakes, put it in eco mode (yes it has one) and when it shifts into 8th, 7L/100 km.
The extra weight and wheelbase makes it ride better than all sports cars i tested. Great for touring. Comfortable, lots of room, full trunk.
Roll the windows down, crank the fan, and open the sunroof if you want to muss your hair.
Can't wait for spring.

I'm somewhere on the redneck with room temp iq side, 53xxx kms and it's on 2nd motor, trans and driveshaft... factory parts don't really like it when you move the limiter from 6850 -8200 rpm

Were you able to get it covered under warranty? Yes, you remove the tune when taking it to the dealership but some still get caught.

Chrysler Fiat reliability is shit, I wouldn't recommend owning after warranty otherwise you're right, a great coupe. MB E-Class underpinnings not C-Class.

I have everything I can do power wise other than forced induction on the car, won't run without a tune... 14k later fully sleeved and forged motor with every piece of ARP hardware available. Trans isn't a factory replacement either,

Thanks for the input so far.
No gas mileage isn't of concern...I guess I am a bad tree hugger.

I was unaware of how many nice convertibles are actually available.
The BMW and Audi do look nice to.

Yes that Mercedes to except it's just a 2 seater.

So many beautiful cars.

Read a review on the Bentley Continental v8s that sounds sweet to...and should for 300K.
The Mustang does have a lot of 9f appeal to it, and it's a Ford so easy access to service and parts. As well I love the idea of it being available in a manual.
