That tells you all you need to know. The Democrats, and a lot of other "Not My Presdident" loonies were determined to get rid of Trump as soon as Clinton tanked, and have not stopped pushing that agenda ever since.

They have thrown everything at him - sexist, rapist, philanderer, bankrupt, Russian agent, Russian colluder, briber, obstructionist, etc etc. Whenever one attack fizzles, they move on to the next.

Don't get me wrong, Trump is a disgusting person in many ways, but the non-stop obssession of the MSM and Democrats (Schiff inventing running commentary, insisting he has proof, but never shows it) to overthrow, and "get" him is more despicable than anything Trump has done.
Whenever I read posts like this or hear something similar coming from a media spokesperson; I insert Obama in wherever Trump is mentioned. You’re God Damn right the Republicans would be acting in a similar way, possibly worse.

I voted for Obama the first time, I don’t remember any Republicans saying they needed to get rid of him before he was even elected. Bush freely handed the reins of power over to the Obama government, exactly the way it should be until the next election. (One of the few things Bush actually did right) Why is it so different this time? Like I have said before many times, “They have no platform to run on to counter anything that the Trump administration is doing, otherwise they would be countering him head on with ‘ideas’, instead of trying to get rid of him.”

Compare apples to apples. Opponents to Hillary were plenty vocal about getting rid of her before she was (potentially) elected.

But Trump is actually such a whirlwind of bad ideas that it overwhelms. Look at Hillary by comparison. "But her emails."* Having one or two talking points to harp on is much more effective than "what's wrong with Trump? Where to start..." If there are so many objections to choose from, his opponents can't agree on a coherent message that will gain momentum. It's actually quite fascinating.

*yes, Clinton opponents also have a litany of objections and conspiracy theories, but they also notice that those topics don't get traction with the masses. It's because the objection to Clinton was focused whereas the objection to Trump was exasperated beyond the point of being articulate.

Democrats and Republicans both might be plenty outraged, but Republicans are much more skilled at articulating it in a way that gains traction.

#45 has a plan? That’s hilarious since he has the attention span of a gnat.

Boil it down and consider what he’s done during this term:

  • Started trade wars on all fronts with Canada, China and the EU
  • Canada still has the duties on steel and aluminum products. This has proven to be harmful to US manufacturers making their products uncompetitive
  • A long trade negotiation for NAFTA 2.0 yielded very little difference from 1.0
  • Failed to categorically call an end to the White Supremacy groups marching
  • Failed to push for any gun control legislation. Still blames it on Democrats even though bi-partisan bills died #moscowmitch
  • Cow-tows to dictators, talks a big game but never gets any conclusive results for nuclear arms agreements with N Korea.
  • Fails to call out Putin over the meddling in the 2016 election. This was counter to all US intelligence services. Mueller indicted several Russian operatives even identifying the exact location of the computer used.
  • Turns a blind eye when Saudi Arabia murders an American journalist.
  • Tears up the Iran nuclear agreement that all major countries agreed was working.
  • Threatens another war with Iran. US has been at war for 18 straight years. Poking Iran won’t be a pushover and count on a long war which in the end nobody would win.

Other than these items Donny has done a bang up job

Can you really say he’s made your country great again?

I could not have said it better. It boggles my mind that there is anyone left in the USA that would actually vote for this idiot!

...not to mention members of his cabinet using their office to line their pockets (Pruitt), dismantling environmental protections (Pruitt), suggesting logging/mining/drilling in our public parks (Pruitt)...then there's Manafort (prison), Cohen (prison), Flynn (awaiting sentencing), on and on. It's embarrassing at the most innocuous level and down-right dangerous from a National Security standpoint.

I still have not heard any response as to why so many (30% +/-) so vehemently defend this mess :noidea:

Because we can see past the Democrats smoke and mirrors....

Illusions don't impress me at all!

The Democrats are scared as hell of Trump, because he is exposing their deep rooted corruption.
If they were not terrified of being brought to justice, they wouldn't be screaming and acting outrageous.

...so to obfuscate any/all transgressions by Democrats, 45 creates darker smoke and foggier mirrors? 'China/Russia/Ukraine/Whoever, if you're out there listening...send more smoke please'

I think you’ve found one of the 30%.

My gut tells me you’ll only get anti-Democrat, deep-state and conspiracy theories out of him.

I’d really like to hear what the 30% believe have been positive steps forward. The provable type of facts that is...

I think you mean Democrat illusions don't impress you at all. You seem perfectly content with Republican illusions, Republican screaming, and Republican outrage.

These are people. No one is a saint and no one is pure evil.

Pointing out flaws in the "opposition" is fine. Doing so while simultaneously ignoring them on your own "team" is not.

First Adam Schiff lies to Congress about Trump’s conversation with the Ukrainian President...and now Nancy Pelosi lies on national television that what Schiff said was true. It doesn’t even pass the smell test of George Stephanopoulos.

Bad day for the Democrats

why do you insist on ignoring the fact that 45 extorted Ukraine? if the only argument is when Shiff said 'in essence' prior to paraphrasing the transcript then it's over

Why do you make an assumption he extorted Ukraine? He asked for a favour, he didn't withhold funds, and the Ukraine President says he didn't feel extorted. He was also asking for investigation on Bden's son, and past possible corruption.

So, that leaves the CNN and Democrat talking points, which are so weak Schiff made up sections of the call, and Pelosi even thinks what he invented, was true. The whole thing is a sham.

These #45 Dillusionists firmly believe when he said he could shoot someone in Times Square, he wouldn’t be arrested. The Ukraine influence peddling is yet another example of something to ignore on their part.

On the other hand any slip up by Democrats is a federal crime.

This shows how delusional never Trumpers are. First, you dont even know what influence peddling is.

For the last three years virtually any business transaction by Trump, going back decades, has been investigated by media , and every move questioned by Democrats and their friendly media, while the same things, such as Biden's threats to Ukraine, were ignored, but you somehow get it completely backward.

Trump is caught red-handed in the cookie jar. Why do you think he is so mad lately, he know he is going to get "fired". No amount of wheeling and dealing and making nuclear threats; because his boss is the Congress/Senate. Where did he get this ideal to ask a foreign power to look into his political enemies weaknesses.....

Biden left his job over 2.5 years ago, and he was in a consensus with alot of European Leaders at the time; to remove a certain individual from the Ukraine government.....

The impeachment hearings will make it through Congress (Democrat Majority thanks due to Trumps stupid Twitter Tweets).

The Republicans want Trump gone, but without seeming to go against a Republican President. So the question is how long do they stall the process. Do they stall long enough past a certain date; so that Mike Pence automatically becomes the President (he would anyway but its about the 2020 elections and who can win it), and can choose his running mate. Or do it right away and the Republican Party has to choose a new leader very quickly that is not Mike Pence..... After all Mike Pence was not chosen by the consensus by the Republican ballot...

What do you call withholding billions of dollars in military aid? How could you EVER make the argument that it's OK for a foreign nation to investigate an American Citizen?

I ask again...why defend 45 so vehemently? It can't be for the idle joy of watching him dismantle our/my democratic institutions...tell me there's a substantive reason for this blind support

Waiting for all the Trump sycophants to convince us that today’s invitation for China to investigate Biden is a good thing. Let me get this straight, he invited the same country that he is waging a major trade war with to interfere in domestic elections. Art of the deal, right??

Because they are projecting all their crimes on to Trump. I think they are having second thoughts about an Impeachment vote because they have such a weak argument. Imagine trying to get rid of a president because he is trying to STOP corruption. What an upside down fucking world we are living in.
