Cami, go salsa dancing... mostly friendly, fun people. The tango scene can be snobby if you hit the wrong night, but pretty great on good nights.

Have not been clubbing for ages but I am 99.9% sure I am going to see Paul Van Dyk at Venue Nightclub this Thursday. Hope to see other PVD/Trance fans out there...

Vancouver clubs are super lame.... People in this city are so snooty, you never meet any new people anyways. Vancouver is so ugh like that. It's more of a see-and-be-seen than people actually looking to be social and enjoy a fun night out with fellow revellers. Thanks but I don't need the dark of night to be seen, and it could never be such a snob! People think I'm weird cuz I'm so outgoing and talk to strangers, but, NEWSFLASH, that's only weird in vancouver! #sorrynotsorry
Exactly what I was saying, but noooo, I get labeled as having "no game".

I'm sure you can get action w/ WGW's (white girls wasted) in local clubs if you have enough GHB and roofies

Hey folks, can some of the more-mature-crowd possibly make some suggestions as to what clubs/bars/music venues in town might be fun for this age group? When I was younger, I knew that one thing I never wanted to be was the cougar in the dance hall. But, if everyone's a little older, that makes it all OK!

Fanclub. They play live music and it is an older crowd. They are on Granville , however. It is best to check their website for who's playing that night

Actually, I was thinking of going but can’t make it.
I may have seriously misjudged your age, or your just an old man like me that doesn’t know how old he is
I've been listening to EDM/Trance music and going to raves since the late 90's. Although I am getting too old for the raves, I still go if there's a DJ that I like. Last one was Armin Van Burren...

It depends on what you're into. For kink and music, NOIR. The latin scene has everything from 20's to 80's (as does NOIR, apparently). I haven't been to a normal club in so long, I don't know what's appropriate...most of the ones I used to go to are either gone, or still the 16-25 hangouts.

Good for you wilde! I also started in the 90’s but never been to a rave. For me it started at gay clubs off all places LOL. I think it started with Depeche Mode and morphed into House/Dance/Trance. Lots of great music.

If I went now I would just end up looking like the dirty old man in denial that I am, standing in a corner checking out the jail bait.
I ended up at Gorgamesh on the weekend with a bunch of hot girls we met another club. It was fun! Look like you belong... and you will.

Egh, if she's a Vancouver girl, she probably did a bunch of shitty stuff hours before to deserve to be left there. #karma

Wonder how many guys are glad they dodged a bullet wit this one:

That is even more unfortunate. No concept of gravity....OBVIOUSLY!!!! ^^^^^

If you're 35+, you should be staying away from the clubs unless there's a good act to see- DJ's, bands, etc.

I tend to hit up the lounges, brew pubs...

Vancouver club scene is filled with gold diggers and douche-nozzles from the suburbs who think the Granville strip is "da bomb". This is know to be true....I've been to clubs in LA, NYC, Vegas. Toronto, Montreal etc. and the scene in other cities is incredible. Everyone is out to have a good time and meeting strangers is no big thing. Vancouver in contrast is a relative shithole. People don't go to clubs to hook up or meet people. There are other activities in this town for that purpose that will net you better results. The Vancouver scene is mostly about being seen as cool when you're out, but you never really give anyone, male or female, a chance to approach you. Even the gay clubs are becoming pretentious. The clubs play the same top 40 hip hop. Real music happens in other places around town.

Vancouver does have some nightlife, but it's not found on the Granville strip.

Maybe she was walking on the beach and a jellyfish bit her foot, and there was nobody there to pee on it for her, so she had to make do............for a blonde I'd say she showed some real ingenuity..........:p

Damn, that would be a rough place to wake up. How'd I get here? Who put me in the garbage can? What did I do last night? Who has seen me here? Who was I with last night? Where's my blankie?

I'll let you know on that one after tonight...

My experience in going to raves lately has been good, I meet a lot of people because for some reason a lot of the young ravers mistake me for an E dealer:doh:.
