Vancouver club scene is filled with gold diggers and douche-nozzles from the suburbs who think the Granville strip is "da bomb". This is know to be true....I've been to clubs in LA, NYC, Vegas. Toronto, Montreal etc. and the scene in other cities is incredible. Everyone is out to have a good time and meeting strangers is no big thing. Vancouver in contrast is a relative shithole. People don't go to clubs to hook up or meet people. There are other activities in this town for that purpose that will net you better results. The Vancouver scene is mostly about being seen as cool when you're out, but you never really give anyone, male or female, a chance to approach you. Even the gay clubs are becoming pretentious. The clubs play the same top 40 hip hop. Real music happens in other places around town.

Vancouver does have some nightlife, but it's not found on the Granville strip.

I respectfully disagree but your opinion is welcomed. It's unfortunate that you've encountered gold diggers and douchebags but again it's all in your own experience and what you make of it. I always believe it's a case of YMMV. It's funny that people name drop major cities like NYC, LA, Miami, etc but I'm sure the guys that have no luck of having fun and/or lack of game in those cities usually name places like Vancouver (and or cities) that they feel is a good time to meet strangers, have a good time, etc. It's shitty to hear about your bad experiences here but hopefully you have luck finding fun in the future!

What's the difference between AW going out and trying to score so pussy or have a relationship and having memories and the average pooner going out and buying some pussy or a "relationship" and having memories.
Thanks for chiming in! Maybe I hit a nerve with some of the members here but yea not sure why I'm getting some negativity on here. No hate from my end :)

Exactly, whatever your interests/likes/wants are then definitely go for it. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I much prefer shitty dive bars than nightclubs. I'll go to a club if there's an act I want to see, though. I never go clubbing to get laid, that's what I use this board for.

I totally agree with you, especially around this time of year.. with all the Christmas parties etc going on. I use to bartend in one of the largest nightclubs (not here) in the province, we had no problem giving out water/pop to customers that told us they were the DD. If you have one person out of say 5 drinking water, the club is still making what 6-8$ a drink per person.. with my experience most men drink doubles.. so you are looking at about 10-12$ for the cheap well liquor or 12-14$ for the premium liquor. That is per person - no way that the bar will be loosing money. I think the bar staff - Bartenders, waitresses, bar-backs, doormen, managers, dj's etc, drink a lot more water/pop than most DD's, but that's just my experience.

I've gone clubbing the last two weekends. I just want to say that I'm disgusted with clubs that are charging $4.50 for TAP WATER. Yes, if you're a DD and want some water, even tap water, you have to pay four fucking dollars and fifty cents. Considering the legality behind drunk drivers in car accidents being able to sue bartenders and owners of clubs, you'd think these clubs wouldn't be such greedy pigs over fucking tap water.

Not just that, but the longer the DD stays the more alcoholic beverages their friends buy.

What is wrong with drunk white girls?
You ask like there is an answer.

THEY ARE DRUNK.

That's what is wrong.:D

Personally, I am a happy drunk! Singing and dancing have a good time. I can also hold my liquor pretty well (or so I think). I just do not make it a habit.

I am not much into clubs anymore, especially in Vancouver. Vegas sometimes. But if I volunteered to be a DD for my friends, and they wouldn't even buy my water or pop. I think that would be the last time.

Funny thing is that the club makes you think it's about the socializing, but it's never about the socializing, it's always about the money! If they're going to charge $4.50 for tap water (which includes the cost of the bartender dispensing the water, the waitress delivering the water, the bus guy picking up your glass, and the kitchen crew cleaning and re-shelving your glass), you might as well make life interesting and order a juice and pop combo and make them work for their money: http://www.thekitchn.com/15-non-alcoholic-mocktails-170813

You never heard the expression 'white girl drunk'' before?

It's an expression for people who look like they are on the verge of puking, can barely stand, not really speaking any words, etc. IE: We're going to get white girl drunk tonight!

This usually causes headaches for people working at the establishment for oh so many reasons.
Oh THOSE girls. The ones that can barely walk and should not have worn high heels. Yes. I know what you are saying now!

I believe "White Girl Wasted" is the preferred nomenclature :)

Vancouver clubs are super lame.... People in this city are so snooty, you never meet any new people anyways. Vancouver is so ugh like that. It's more of a see-and-be-seen than people actually looking to be social and enjoy a fun night out with fellow revellers. Thanks but I don't need the dark of night to be seen, and it could never be such a snob! People think I'm weird cuz I'm so outgoing and talk to strangers, but, NEWSFLASH, that's only weird in vancouver! #sorrynotsorry

Either way...
I use my government name in social settings, (unless it's a night w other SPs) but I get recognized often as well, and I'm fine with that
A lot of people ask for photos or whatever, and I don't mind at all
After doing as much media as I have, I think you need to come to expect it, and I love meeting new people anyways.

curious Cami
are you incognito when you are out or are you Cami Parker?
