Was anyone else expecting FIFA to bring more choice and variety to this hobby, at least on a temporary basis?

I find myself noticing not only this, but also fewer existing ladies working overall it seems like.

Has anyone noticed the same?

I just saw a SP in Vancouver and she told me it's not been more business than before FIFA. I don't think the tourists are taking part in the hobby much and locals are probably busy with watching games or drinking and partying. I also don't really see any touring ads posted for cities where games are happening. So I guess they all knew FIFA isn't great for this somehow?

Sometimes, big events bring in touring ladies, even part-timers and amateurs looking to make some quick cash.

FIFA had major issues, all kinds of press about high hotel prices, airfares are skyhigh and such. There were one or two touring ladies arrive, Nymph seems to have done quite well based on social media posts and moved over to Calgary for Stampede next. However, most of them stayed away. It was also taking place in Toronto, Seattle and lots of other places that may have attracted more attention. Plus, FIFA fans travel in groups most often, and unless that group is pretty open about sex work, no one is sneaking away for a shag. They are hitting the pubs and clubs, there were plenty of hookups happening possibly, but mostly unpaid would be my guess.

The market has evolved so much in Vancouver in the past couple of years. Sugar dating has soaked up a bunch of the amateurs and part timers, even established providers are using it. The high end has gotten really high and the lower end has even moved up. The AMP scene in Vancouver may grow with a new agency or two, but it's the same talent for the most part, some ladies work for many agencies and they have to get into the country and those visas are controlled. Media articles says 17K visas were denied around FIFA, I would be willing to bet some of those were for traveling sex workers.

On top of all of that, Vancouver has never been a big touring destination for many ladies. Many skip it, only coming as far as Alberta. Montreal, Toronto ladies especially. That's been a thing for years. So, pooning wise, I think FIFA was a big nothing burger. As I recall, I don't remember ladies raving about being super busy during the 2010 games either.

As I stated before - it is all hype - there is no increase in demand for services nor any increase in availability of providers. The road closures likely caused some business interruptions for providers downtown however so if anything, it is a decrease in business during these kinds of events.

Pretty much sums it up. AMP's have mushroomed everywhere in Metro Van and I expect those to pop up even more as it goes on. The INDY section here on Perb seems to be not as active as it once was way back. Not much ads per day as it once was. Agency section here, much different.

Just back from Montreal and had a conversation with a provider there who told me that F1 is terrible for business. You'd think that rich guys and car wonks from around the world would want to partake, but apparently not. I know Stampede in Calgary doesn't always translate to more demand from customers either.

I'm quite certain speculation of the 2010 games brought in touring ladies more often though and if I recall correctly the touring ladies usually charged less than the locals as a way to attract business.

Some parallels to back then vs now, are that we were hostinh a big international sporting event, and there was a recession. What makes things different today is the workers back then vs now, back then no one went into sex work as something lucrative. It was done fo survival, lots of ladies were still working the streets and there weren't fake ads on CL to the extent of LL. I think touring ladies started to get a bad rep after 2015, there was a generalization against ladies from out east and it was assumed anyone from Ontario or Quebec was going to be a scam. I think it was more or less due to language barriers with the Quebecois and them not knowing all the acronyms in English or slang terms when asked about those services.

For legit providers, today it's a lucrative business, providers can set their rates to make a week of income in a single hour if they want and someone will pay that price, even if it's one client for the entire week, cause for some ladies it's all they need.

I am not sure if they are your type or not, but I've seen these couple of years now black SPs from Toronto agencies and high end massage parlours are choosing to visit Vancouver and using the local incall agencies on a regular basis now. Once every two or three months.
