I declare a unilateral cease fire!!!

I've had it with the flame wars. I don't think I'm in the middle of every flame war, as was recently stated, and i don't think I start very many of them. But I'm prepared to admit my role in some of them!

In the future I will confine my contributions to the Winnipeg forum to reviews, answers to queries, and posing questions about sp's.

my chat will be confined to the lounge or the general discussion threads.

The rest of you, can do what you like. I'm walking away. I'll leave you alone, you leave me alone!!! Come after me though, I'm carrying a 2 x 4!!!!

I was reading in the Edmonton forum that "Edmonton Mod" has quit because of all the shit in the Winnipeg forum that he had to put up with.

I agree with Tommy Boy ... this used to be a good review tool, now it's a teen chat board - I believe the internet term is now called "blog".

Thanks....glad you like my posts. I agree....nothing like a little banter back and forth so long as it's all in fun. I've drastically reduced my time on this board because I find it is getting somewhat dull. Back in my "Chronic" posting days I found this board entertaining....lets face it there is only so much reviewing one can do.

Wooo Hooo... good to hear. This board has provided some great information about the hobby, stopping me from making some bad decisions, and steering me to some of my fav experiences. And while discussions without disagreements are easy to moderate, the taking up of contrary points of view does not necessarily need to end up in a churlish hurling of expletives followed by mass bannings. Two minute penalties for retaliation aren't the only punishments that can be given out, remember the diving penalty and the instigator rule...(venturing down Julie's hockey theme....)

I think that, should you require help moderating this little maelstrom we call the Winnipeg forum, you could call upon any one of many here to take up the Mod status. And there are more than a few that could do so in an honest and stabilizing way.

Just a thought, and thanks again for the effort in providing us this great service.

My vote would be for Avery, He seems to be the most reliable and mature gentleman in Winnipeg. He seems to avoid fights and bullshit. Sooooooooooo if your lookin for a honest and decent moderater Avery is your man for Manitoba.
However maybe he would not want the task of taking on the school yard.
I think that Perb would be very boring if not for the expected war. Or the odd humourous remarks from the dedicated members.

I would vote for Avery too but I suspect there are very few people that are both qualified and want the job. Frankly I would vote for you JWaters/Julie! You have a very healthy attitude about the business, you know most of the poons (mayby all of them??) and you have always been first class!

On a different note I am happy to see the MOD take a strong position. I hope he sticks to it!

Thanks for the kind words, Julie and logsplitter, but I definitely wouldn't want the job. I have neither the time nor the inclination to do it. I look on this board as a medium for the exchange of information, and also as entertainment. I don't want it to be thankless work too.

Besides, the mods are supposed to be anonymous. Not only that, one of the current mods recently warned me that I would be banned myself if I did something again!

I believe that the mod(s) for the Winnipeg forum should be from elsewhere, i.e. people who don't normally post in it.

The biggest problem here seems to be that some people can't accept and counter legimitate differences of opinion without attacking the person expressing them. That's a sign of immaturity and the inability to articulate one's thoughts clearly. People like that are brave in an anonymous setting like this board, but are usually meek little chicken-shits in real life.
