The West Coast of America is likely to experience an Earth Quake and Tsunami like Indonesia did in 2002.

Does this ever enter into the thoughts of Vancouverites? Did you know Richmond is below sea level and the ground is essentially made of clay?

Vancouver is unlikely to suffer a subtstantial tsunami because of it's geographic location within the Straight of Georgia. We could however, experience signifigant flooding generated by large waves that would affect the lower lying areas. Richmond and Delta will be most affected.

The greatest threat from a major earthquake is liquifaction of areas comprised of ground which is peat, sand and landfill. Landslides are another signifigant threat in areas with greater than 30 degree slopes.
