Who doesn't know the SP they are seeing is 14? This scum bag is a huge piece of shit, but what about the families of these girls? Where were they?
-------------------------------------
A Vancouver man targeted 11 vulnerable teenage girls for his prostitution ring, luring them with offers of life in high-end condos, spending money and unlimited drugs, a prosecutor said Wednesday.

Reza Moazami, 29, has pleaded not guilty to 36 criminal charges including living on the avails of a juvenile, threatening to use violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.

The alleged offences involving the girls, aged between 14 and 19, took place from February 2009 to October 2011, when the accused was arrested by police.

In her opening statement, Crown counsel Damienne Darby told B.C. Supreme Court Justice Catherine Bruce that each of the alleged victims was struggling in her own way, some with pre-existing addictions, most with family and school difficulties.

"The girls will describe how Mr. Moazami presented a very alluring picture of a lifestyle as escorts, living in upscale condos, being able to afford expensive clothes, getting their hair and their nails done, going to tanning salons," Darby said.

The evidence will show that once the girls were working for him, he used a variety of strategies, ranging from coercion and intimidation to humiliation and outright violence to ensure they continued to make money for him, she said.

Moazami began by taking pictures of the girls using a cellphone camera and posting ads on escort websites, Darby said.

"He provided condoms, cellphones and work clothes. He rented all of the locations, most of them high-end condominiums in the downtown (Vancouver) core."

She said the girls were expected to work long hours, seven days a week.

Moazami took six of the girls out of the city to work in prostitution - to Edmonton, Victoria, Calgary and Toronto, said Darby.

Moazami actively encouraged and facilitated alcohol and drug use, to help them deal with their day as prostitutes, she added. "It also made them increasingly dependent upon them."

A variety of drugs - including cocaine, OxyContin and date rape drugs - were provided, mostly free of charge, said Darby.

Initially, the accused offered to pay the girls half their earnings, but then changed that arrangement, said Darby. Some of the girls were paid nothing, she said.

When the girls tried to leave, he would find them and try hard to re-recruit them, said the Crown.

"Only one will say she was allowed to leave in peace. He pursued the other 10 ... and re-recruited seven of them, some of them more than once."

The victims cannot be identified due to a publication ban.

My apologies. I don`t live on this board and that original story is from 2011. Didn`t see a new thread, so missed the link in the recent pimp saga.

this is in no way meant to excuse his behaviour, but the answer to your question lies in the article. many people have a family life that could only be characterized as 'fucked up'. scumbags like this evil asshole know that and prey specifically on girls from those backgrounds... just sayin :)

That was my point. This guy is a creep and an asshole and a predator and xploiter, but the real problem is the families those kids come from. When I asked "where were they"? I meant "why aren't they being held accountable in some way?" People get to have kids and then just toss them aside for predators like him and let society try to repair the damage.

Okay, so you are saying the parents should be held accountable in some way. What would you suggest?

I can understand your frustration, since many of society's ills can be blamed on family issues. However, parents are often damaged individuals (mental health issues are everywhere), who just happen to make babies. Becoming a parent doesn't come with a guide book and, even if it did, many parents wouldn't read it. And some are just clueless.

Whether you like it or not, the burden is often placed on society to address the problems and clean up the messes. And there are many good people who make it their life's mission to help those less fortunate, be they the parents or the offspring.

True but I would also like to add that comments like those made by Cock Throppled indicate the passion that is often behind change. Apathy is costly, I'll take passion any day! When I get angry about something, I take action. Anger against injustice is what spurs people to do so much social service work.

And, with thanks to 1nitestan for reminding me about this work, Shane understands...we're all victims, and we can all contribute to the healing:
