Instead of the Best and Brightest we have a mass who want someone “just like them”.
Do I want someone just like me removing my brain tumour? HELL NO I want the smartest guy or gal and I don’t care if they are black or white or a trust fund baby.
True. That’s why I don’t want a PM with his daddy’s name but his mommy’s brain. JT is an intellectual lightweight, not to mention a sanctimonious hypocrite. Let’s all give a big cheer for our part time drama teacher/snowboard instructor PM.

Proportional Representation is a great idea on theory but difficult to impossible to implement.
It requires agreement from the provinces and cannot be imposed in a top-down manner by the Federal Govt. There are dozens of forms of PR and everyone would have to agree on one formula. Trudeau found this out and has moderated his stance.
Singh keeps yapping about it only because he knows he will never have to actually do it.
Bullshit. Trudeau reneged on a campaign promise.

I'm guessing a few years ago you voted for the Mensa who couldn't pass the insurance agent's test?

I fiqure more taxes are coming soon.
The thing with the carbon tax is unless the fed government steamrolls the line for a better carbonless economy, it will all be wasted. What I mean is that they have to take a big leadership role in pushing for renewable energy in all areas of the economy. They have to get tougher.... Well if they don't kids born today, it might be better off for their parents to euthanized their kids now, instead of the bleak future they will have. Shitty I know, but everyone despite what they are doing now for the ecosystem today, its not enough. Its not just in Canada, but a sickness is in the world. The big thing is the quest for money and power by every individual and the self entitlement of their place in society (Really Chretien said it best "Canadians are arrogant"). They don't personally see it, they think they are doing ok by the environment, but it can be observed that the world is going downhill fast. Enough of the negatives.

Think positive....
I mean you have a highway (#1 Hwy) across Canada.
You have a railway that runs across Canada.
You have fiber optics that runs across Canada ( by that same railway line etc) (by the way this all took 150 year to do).

Why can't you have a grid that connects across Canada.

Rapid transport by highspeed train between major cities. Montreal/Ottawa/Toronto- triple/quad lines. Montreal- Halifax- single. Toronto-Thunder Bay-Winnipeg- double line. Winipeg-Brandon,Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton Calgary-Vancouver. Edmonton -north. Winnipeg-north.... Tie in renewables into these rapid train transport etc. No need for planes

Banks should give loans (at Cdn lending prime, not their prime); for either solar/wind power for existing homes. Electrical companies should make renewable energy on par (buy from customers at which they sell electricity at). If Canada have a abundance sell to the states.

The federal government has to get off its ass and decide whether it goes electric or fuel cell for vehicles. (large- fuel cell, under midsize- battery)

Nuclear energy should be given a new life (sorry fuck you green assholes). New tech in the nuc industry like thorium reactors are a safe technology, and less likely to large amount of contaminated wastes).

Recycling of all plastics. This is a complete new industry and is very doable.
Recycling will be even bigger industry (pls my disgust of the recycling for profit in this country really turns my stomache, because there is too much going still into the landfils). We make it, we use it, we recycle it...

The problem with all the above--- wait for it..... is to get the useless over entitled shitheads (who don't have a jobs or just sit on their asses with their thumbs up their asses and no welfare for you (soup nazi) or doctors note for the terminally unable to work fucks; ok lets call them lazy....), to get their hands dirty....

Everybody baby.... needs to contribute till their eyeballs bleed....

PS Just so you all know, The PM I liked best was Chretien. Why, because he had the balls to grab that fucker in the crowd that attacked him by the throat, before his RCMP guard could interfer... not because of his policies, but he took immediate action....

Trudeau’s idea of fighting climate change is more carbon tax….
What a dip shit……
Respectfully have to disagree here. The role of gov’t is to put structural policies in place, including incentives and dis-incentives to achieve the changes needed. Industry, businesses, consumers, and institutions need to solve their own problems and correct their own bad behaviours. Last thing I want to see is gov’t intervening in how industries are run—gov’ts are horrible problem solvers, but should be policy makers. I got lots of criticisms against Trudeau and the Liberals, but if our drama teacher puts an aggressive timeline on electrification while bringing the metre-stick down on the bad boys’ knuckles, then that’s the job he should doing imho.

Yep. Lets shut down oil and gas and forestry on the alter of 1.5% of global GHG emissions. The drama teacher is fucking the Canadian economy to promote his own enviro-cred. He is a narcissistic, sanctimonious hypocrite

I believe he taught Math and French at one of Vancouver's best private schools, has a couple of degrees, and was enrolled in Engineering in Montreal when he decided to enter politics.

The alternative last election was a fellow who hid from the public and the media, flip-flopped on every issue and can't even control the crazies in his caucus.

I'd say we dodged a bullet.

But keep underestimating Trudeau. It's worked so well for you the last three elections.

I'm not a Trudeau fan. But the last 3 elections he came out on top as the PM. PuntMeister is right the Cdn Government has to set the policies and industry and Cdn businesses (large, medium, and small) have to come up with solutions to implement change from oil to renewable energy to run things. Doesn't matter who is the boss, its got to be done. Why? Well if you live in a big city that has smog, just imagine that every breath you take is like putting your lips on a 1950 lead gasoline burning engine.... ain't too healthy for you.

Lately I been watching off grid videos. People getting back to farming for their food, supply their house with solar or wind, being independant (at a high initial cost). Away from the pollution of cities (noise, air, light). On one Utube channel about off the gird, the 10 year son, still has a mini-bike to go play on.... gas powered. Go fiqure.... I mean we can't give up those fun conviences in Canada now, cause the air is still breathable right?

Saturation points vs Points of no Return.

Infrastructure investment: Unless you come up with a cheap system to transport people--- OIL will be KING. Oil is the basis of anything plastic, future material that our society just burns away for our entertainment....

Electric run trains for local and high speed transport trains for between cities. Sewer and clean water supply. High rises that supply their own power etc.

And most people are so fucken short sighted that all they moan about is how a fucken drama teacher became PM. Talk about drama.....must be overindulging on those beers on a Friday night...... like they can do any better....

It's interesting how people can justify the craziness at the gas pumps in the name of clean air and greener spaces......
Yet many of these same people see nothing wrong with literally hundreds if not thousands of perfectly working homes being destroyed in order to put in mega mansions or high density condos??
The argument that they are more energy efficient really doesn't hold water when all is considered in the demo and rebuild. Vancouver is bursting at the seams with new arrivals all needing a place to call home complete with water, lights, sewage and heating. How is that going green?
I bet many of the above people get a new car every few years, cell phones every year, lap tops and big screens every couple of years as well...meanwhile all the stuff they are replacing is in perfect working order.
All this green new deal progressiveness just doesn't quite add up me thinks?
