Canadian Football League: “We will play CFL football in 2021"

"CFL delays start of 2021 season to Aug. 5

The CFL has delayed the start to the 2021 season.

Commissioner Randy Ambrosie made the announcement on Wednesday morning, ending weeks of speculation regarding if and when the 2021 season would start.

Ambrosie revealed in a media statement that a 14-game regular season is “targeted” to kick off on Aug. 5. The 2021 Grey Cup game, originally slated for Nov. 21 in Hamilton, has been moved to Dec. 12. Training camps are to open in mid-July.

“We will play CFL football in 2021,” Ambrosie said in a prepared statement. “Our revised target date to start our regular season is Aug. 5. To facilitate a 14-game season, for our players, fans and partners, we are re-scheduling the Grey Cup to Dec. 12 in Hamilton."

I hope it’s true because I’d like to see CFL survive. They miss this season I’d say they are pretty much done.

I’ve gotten notifications about events in September but to be honest, I’m not comfortable attending any large gathering.

I hope the league survives. I'm in my mid 30s and all my friends watch NFL and don't care about the CFL. The collaboration with the XFL is really intriguing to me. I'm down for anything to keep the CFL teams. As long as I get to watch my BC Lions, I don't care if it's 4 downs, smaller field or whatever. Football is football. I just want to watch my team and other Canadian teams.

Been a CFL fan since I was 5 years old and watched Leo Lewis from the Bombers dazzle everyone.
I figure the single biggest problem is that the commissioner Randy Ambrosie keeps wearing those stupid scarves.
