“An OnlyFans creator gets 90 days for uploading sex tapes without consent.

Five videos. Two platforms. Made money off them.

Judge said "consent to film isn't consent to go viral," and handed her weekend jail like it's intramural prison league.

Is 90 days enough for a crime like this?”

I don’t ever post much but thought this was interesting

(hopefully approved to post)

Gotta be careful with these kinds of stories. A lot of them don't have a source and are posted to instagram and facebook without any proof it happened. I saw one where an elderlyman had to steal medicine for his wife and the judge made everyone give him 100 dollars, same story but it was a kid who stole bread, social media is full of these made up things.

Did he know she was posting videos on OF?
If so, what did he think she would do with the video?

I have to agree with you here. Normally I’d be firmly on the victim’s side in a case like this but I have to ask why he agreed to the filming in the first place? Was it for his own use? in which case how did the get the footage? If he agreed to let her film what the hell did he think she wanted it for? And why didn’t he ask? Victim blaming isn’t a good thing, but protect yourself for fuck sake. Particularly when it comes to sex.

If we are in a relationship and decide to record our intimate moments, we must both consent to sharing them publicly online, whether for financial gain or not.

It also went viral. What if his adult children, family, or workplace become aware of this public display without his consent, potentially impacting him and his livelihood hat is posted online can be difficult to remove.

Consent to film is independent of intended use of the resulting recording. Whoever you are, pornstar or not, medium of recording, ... all these other factors are irrelevant. 25 years ago, would we be asking why someone made a sextape if it was released for sale without their consent?

No matter the circumstances, consent to use the resulting recording must be given for every type of use. For example, consent to put the recording on onlyfans for access to paid members only does not mean consent to post on the open internet or on any other paid streaming service like fansly.

In fact consent can also be far more restrictive. For example, one can consent to posting their recording on onlyfans for only 1 week, viewable to only the first 10 viewers.

It's important to recognize these distinctions in consent.
