A 'burner' phone is just a phone you can 'throw away'. So it's not a smart phone or anything typically expensive. My suggestion, goto 7-11 and get one of their phones. The plans are cheap and pay as you go. when they run out, they stop working. You buy more 'time' on the 7-11 website or goto 7-11 and buy a top up card. don't use the phone for social media or watching youtube, use it as a text and/or phone contact only.Who can explain burner phones to me ? Where can I get one in Winnipeg ? And if I have an old phone can I get a prepaid sim card somewhere. Thanks in advance
What about CSIS? i dont wanna live south of the border. 🕵️♂️Buy a phone and time/data at 7-11 and pay both only with cash, wear a hoodie and a N95 mask, sunglasses and you are golden. The CIA and FBI have openings.
Well, for starters you'd avoid issues like the provider that was cold calling/texting me every couple of weeks asking if I wanted a massage. Imagine having CarPlay/Android Auto playing that message while you have others in your car.How much of a concern is this? Is there a real risk of prosecution?
Exactly this. I don’t use a burner legal issues, I’m seeing legitimate SP’s and not going anywhere near anything that has even a whiff of exploitation where LE are rightly focussing their attention. My burner phone and text APP use is strictly to avoid the above.I think burners are not to hide criminality in this context, but rather to avoid getting caught by a significant other or family. Having text chains on your phone, or indiscrete MP/SPs contacting you unannounced isn't the safest thing for domestic tranquility.
Nope, nothing but some cash. Unless something has changed in the last couple of years. So, you don't have to provide personal info when you buy these sim cards at Petro Canada or 7-11 ?
You do have to register the simm to get an actual number. Email address is all you needNope, nothing but some cash. Unless something has changed in the last couple of years.
