If you're smart, you use a burner phone for pooning. Most of them don't accept multimedia messaging.

So why do so many SP's answer questions by sending an MMS with services/prices or whatever? I never know what they might be, because I can't open them. I realize it's easier to try to answer potential questions that way, but don't SP's realize most pooners use the simplest, least traceable phones?

Not sure what a solution would be.

Burner phones are the minority. The ladies who on perb are no reason for us to use burners. Now on leolist...that's another story. I'd be skeptical using my phone with fake, scammers on there.

I Didn't say all --- 100% --- ladies on Leo list were not legit. Many there aren't. I'm comparing Perb ladies to Leo list. Ladies on Perb are 100% legit. Many on Leo Are not. A lot of fake ads on LL. I wouldn't use my cell with fake Leo list ads. That's all I'm saying. And the topic is about burner cells...not ladies. Stay focused.

My particular phone doesn't have data, so nothing to activate. 96.8% of the time the lack of data is a plus.

I use a burner for people and businesses, other than SP's, that I have no desire to have access to my private, or business phones. These are people I may have known for years, and have met, but don't fully wish them in my private life. This includes overseas suppliers that often have no sense of time differences, privacy or the need to contact others to solve their issues. This may even include family members. There isn't a single member of perb I'd give my private numbers to, and I think most would/should feel the same.

I also do work with people with substance , and mental health issues, who should not contact me, but have in the past, and it can often not be pleasant. A burner phone just gives me a sense of safety, and I use it as I feel it makes common sense a lot of the time.

I agree totally. Burner phones are the way to go, but problematic if you ask them to do more than the basics.


The solution would be to just have a template with a standard text response or two ("Current rates list", "Restrictions / policies", etc.), and have that saved in a Notes app if necessary. Copy & paste into text message or email when needed.
I know that some ladies / bookers already do this. Greatly saves time, and doesn't require a data plan or wifi signal to access.

If not for the need to sometimes look up some website "in the field" (PERB, Leolist, Tryst, etc.) who would need more than text and phone capabilities to meet up with someone?

The ads and pop-ups on those sites sometimes actively interfere with reading what you are looking for, causing yet more slowness (and data usage) for burner users.

Maybe some like to use What'sApp and so on, but a lot of burners have such low capabilities that they are slow as cold molasses using any browser or app.

BY THE WAY:

For burner phones are running on 3G networks: wasn't the shutdown of 3G in Canada a few days ago? Are those network capabilities gone now?

I use a burner and have the same issues not seeing or being able to read what an SP has sent me. Because it shows up on their end as an I-phone (it is an old I phone but with a 7-11 sim and only talk and text) they think what their sending is being received. I've missed entry instructions and even pictures.

I thought a very well known SP was ghosting me right before the session, after I messaged her that I was parked and ready when she was. Turned out she was answering but not noticing that messages weren't being delivered. After about 10 minutes she realised the problem and re-sent as sms.

From then on I've added a little reminder to my texts with Sp's that I don't have any data on my phone, they see it understand the reason.

The chatter seems to indicate it will be sooner than later. For instance, Public Mobile (Telus) isn't using 3G, rather throttled LTE to 3G speeds.

My "booking details" text I send to all new clients with all my info, is sent MMS, because it's such a long text it automatically turns to MMS. That's all, and probably the most reasonable explanation for other sp also that send MMS, vcause majority of us ain't sending pics for free or shits and giggles, lol.

Wouldn't it be more practical to direct a possible client to your site, rather than risk them not getting the info?
