Okay okay, I doubt I will ever shell out that much money on a piece of clothing but I am in LOVE with a Jacket I saw in the window at Burberry. I WISH I could justify being extravagant but all I can think is "hmmm...pay my student loans off 6 months faster, or own a jacket?"

I have always loved Burberry clothing, I don't know what it is...them and also Givenchy.

For those that are into designer labels (whether you buy or just window shop like me), who do you covet?

** (No, I'm not gay.)
No, if you were your clothes would be D&G and Abercrombie & Fitch and you'd buy your underwear at Priape ;)

LOVE the homo-erotic ads that D&G puts out...

As for Abercrombie, they take a more homegrown and understated approach:

My wardrobe consists of :

1. Dolce & Gabbana (oh my god, I must be gay)

2. Versace

3. Hugo Boss

4. Prada (my favourite label, especially for shoes and belts)

5. Luca del Forte

6. J. Lindberg

7. Lacoste

8. Armani Collezioni

9. Aramis (high-end Brazilian store, simply the best in styles and tailoring)

10. Banana Republic (mostly for pants)

You will never catch me dead wearing :

1. Gucci

2. Burberry

3. Louis Vuitton

No offence to Asians, but it seems only they wear this stuff... or it's always some sort of a knock-off. No thanks.

1) Dolce & Gabbana- their clothing fits me perfect , they have this slim fit line that doesn't make me look like I am wearing my dad's clothes

2) Louis Vuitton- same thing, the suits and ties are so much more contemporary than the other brands. As well not a lot of people wear it.

3) Etro- this brand just just crazy.

4)Hugo Boss- so many labels for every occasion, orange, green, black

On the other hand I really hate the people who wear the Christen Audiger brand... they are so tacky and severely overpriced.

K - don't feel bad. I ended up buying a Burberry shirt last month (even though I already have well over 20 shirts). Everyone has their vice - I am quite content with my wardrobe except for shoes and watches and anything cashmere. Hmm . . . a nice pair of Ferragamo or Prada Shoes, Hublot Big Bang Watch, Bulgari Diagono Retrograde Moonphase Watch from the Iron Man movie.

Speaking of which - I definitely covet the Robert Downey Jr's private jet with the personal turn down service and stripper pole.

How could I forget Etro... I only have one shirt, but damn it's amazing.

Hugo Boss *was* great from 2007 and prior. Their new black/orange line is now made in Hong Kong. WTF? Sorry, but I'm not paying top-dollar for a shirt made in China. What happened to Made in Turkey?

I wondered why Hugo Boss stuff just didn't 'fit' right anymore..

Not enough room in the crotch area, no blood flow to the little head.

Now I understand why.

It's all about feeling good

Me it's Armani and Canali. It's all about feeling good. Projecting an image of confidence. Being happy.

Buy the jacket, do yourself and the economy a favour.

I'm the same way, I find it hard to justify spending so much money on one particular item, it's a struggle really...lol.

Paying your student loans off 6 months faster sounds like a better idea for sure. :)

I am in love with Betsey Johnson (clothing- not the handbags). Fun, flirty and very feminine. Rolling around in a pile of Betsey Johnson is far more satisfying than sex. JUST KIDDING :p

I understand your love affair with burberry. I have received a few pieces, and am eyeing one as well.

As mentioned in a previous thread, I think that designer items are worth the price tag for women if they are timeless pieces.

That being said, go pay off your student loan. Eventually the satisfaction of that jacket will wear off, but losing a chunk of debt is far more satisfying and the gratification lasts longer. (Here I am still with student loans, but I am motivated to cut down on my many wants, and pay it off).
I promised myself a Betsey Johnson dress when I graduate!
I love Burberry as well. I used to buy their polo tees in Singapore frequently, and have splurged on a couple purses.
I think you should pay off your student loan and reap the rewards later! I've drastically cut down on my expenses as well since delving into a full course load this term!
After you pay your loans, that will take a huge load off your shoulder and you can work and enjoy all you want!!!:D

Im glad im not the only one that noticed this. Boss sucks these days. This summer i had an obsession with J. Lindeberg. I really liked how most of their clothes were simple and had just a tiny logo on it.

I love Lacoste polos and have them in every color, but everybody is rockin the $20 ebay ones these days so i dont wear them anymore.

My closet is full of designer labels, but since im still young i dont always dress fancy. Ive got a mix of skaterboy/preppy look going most of the time. But when it comes time to suit up, you better believe im ready for it haha.

There's a good way to justify your expenses... it's call AMORTIZATION:D Usually people will treat their nice stuff better, hence it'll last that much longer. When stuff last long, you'll use/wear it more frequently. You can buy a $1000 jacket, and wear it 1000 times, and it'll only be 1 dollar per use. But if you get yourself a shirt that's 20 bucks, but you wear it only twice, that's 10 dollars for each time you wear it.

Also, you should head to the states to shop more often, since stuff there are usually way cheaper. You can get a mens Burberry trench for like 700bucks only.

Personally, I like:
Burberry
Coach
FCUK
Versace
Banana Republic
AX (before i found out they're not even designed by Armani, just licensing his name:mad: )

Oh yes I agree! Only right now I buy that $20 shirt and wear it 1000 times ;)

I do have one designer item but it was given to me a couple years ago by someone who owned a shop and were shutting it down. I wear it often even though it isn't completely my style...just because it's kind of neat-o to me to have something designer :) (I may be an escort now and able to make bigger student loan repayments but I've never had money before and always lived on credit -- student loans -- so yes, designer labels are not what I am used to in my closet)

p.s. sperminator: I tease but I really would love to see your clothing collection. I have seen from other threads that you have a good knowledge of fashion, couture, and tailoring and I bet you have some really nice pieces :)
