BP Shutdown?

It looks like the adult section of backpage is no longer available in the states. I understand Canada has different legislation but the CEO of backpage has been arrested so it may be on it's last legs. I personally haven't used it in years but I though i'd share the news.

I read that 3 women claimed they were forced to work as sex slaves and that the perps used backpage to advertise. I don't really see the link that BP was complicit. I think BP had due diligence with their log in question, but all it takes these days are allegations, and you can be charged.

Its not effectively shut down, all the girls who are smart have simply moved their ads to the Dating section

it will be shutdown just like what happened to craigslist once the states does that backpage Canada will follow suit. not much of a loss anyway, that site is saturated with junkies, pimps, gangsters, and sps who rob and assault the clients weekly, its about time its shutdown. good riddance.

Exactly. Then what is really needed is a site that charges a few thousand $$$ a year to advertise. That would cut out some of the trash.

Prostitution is the oldest profession in the world. It will always be here. Women did attract clients when there was no internet. You try to curb the legal ways of advertising, it will go underground and exploitation gets worse because now ladies can't work openly so there are going to be thugs controlling them. Authorities and the conservative people in our society better rethink their stance.
