Totes Borko. IT'S AMAZING and makes most Hollywood CGI fests look like a joke. This just came out and was lovely:
Better than the first one.
It's out now. Opened yesterday. But it's in very limited release. I'm extremely interested in seeing this but locally, it's exclusively at a theater called The Towne in Abbotsford (I believe that's a Landmark cinema). And Abbotsford is a long way from Vancouver to go for a movie! I thought I also heard that it would be available "on demand" but I haven't checked for that as yet... But this is definitely the type of movie I would prefer to see in a theater on the big screen first.Snowpiercer
This co French/South Korean co production is being released anytime now. The world has been destroyed by an attempt to end global warming and the only survivors are riding endlessly on a train to nowhere with the poor at the back and the rich at the front.

Though it undoubtedly has some plot holes it has a 94% Rotten tomatoes rating from critics due mainly to the apparently spectacular special effects and the underlying theme of the movie as a modern portrayal of class warfare.
I just checked a couple of video services that I have access to thru my PS3. It's available for about 8 bucks on CinemaNow and 9 bucks thru the Playstation store for the HD version. Its not on Shaw as of yet. The perils of being an independent film when Hollywood has all the prime venues under its control.....so many good films out there and no opportunity to view on the big screen.
Its a shame when an Adam Sandler movie gets full theatre distribution but a far superior independent or international film cant.
