No, it's not out in the open as BKK, but enough to keep you interested for a week. Look up internationalsexguide and you'll see what I mean. Last time I was there...there were girls stripping in mainstream clubs (think of a club like Vancouver's Roxy). Blew my mind. No doubt Indonesia does have its conservative factions but rules appear to be flexible. Level of English is very basic.
I'd never recommend Amsterdam, especially the Red Light District - totally mechanical fucks, not a trace of GFE, tourist traps. Head to Germany for FKKs - naked fuckable girls everywhere - candy shops for guys.

There is no more stripping in Jakarta, only in some smaller cities like Makasar. As of the past 8 months the clubs have been on clampdown and limiting exposure of vices, but still available although there are random police checks that may be a nuisance. English is non-existent so don't expect any GFE unless you speak the language, or goto one of the $$$ gentlemans clubs which rival costs here. If you goto the more local places, the prices are cheap, but you need to sort through the girls to find gems, and even then, some don't accept foreigners, not as much as places like Thailand or South America. I don't think its a great place for a beginner/first-timer to Asia or overseas tourism (lack of English, bad infrastructure, limited food choices etc..) only for intermediates with some experience. That said, there are guides that can help newbies navigate the scene there for a small fee.
Thailand is far superior experience for the first-timer or beginner. Although it is slightly pricier, the superior infrastructure, less langauge issues, more food choices, and more open sex/brothel choices will be worth the marginal increase in cost. I mean, on beach road in pattaya, you can find OK girls for as low as 1000baht, which is like $40 a pop, and they are young, and better than most of the Asian MP Aunties here that cost $140 and up. If you goto a fishbowl soapie, you can get a 1 hr soapie bath, bodyslide and fuck, chosen from a selection of 20-30 gals usually, for about $100 cdn. There are even more local soapie places (foreigners welcome still) at the $45 mark! IMO the quality of the girls here far exceed the typical MP Asian anties in Vancouver.
Although i haven't personally been, my friends have raved about Medillin, Columbia. There are many safe 'Casas' which have a variety of women, and they are shown on various websites. prices are also on the low end around $30-40 USD per pop. The food there suits the Western palate much more than most Asian food, and is about 1/3 the cost of a comparable restaurant here. You need to speak Spanish however to get the most fun out of it.

Overall, Thai girls have varying looks, from northern Fair skin (more chinese looking), to Issan dark brown caramel skin which look like Filipinos. The main issue is that the more attractive light skin (Chinese or non-Issan) girls tend to cater themselves to the more Asian male crowd (Local Thai, Japanese, Asian tourist) because they tend to have more spending power or its their preference. Pay off financially? Lol.... this 'hobby' is a like doing drugs, its a losing proposition from day one, no matter how or where. In some ways i wish i was never 'exposed' to it and went the normal dating/pickup route, would have saved me tens of thousands of dollars over a lifetime.
But for those of us who are already 'addicted' and too far past gone, travelling overseas provides far better value and far superior experiences. The industry here is catered towards ST (LT is too expensive) so you can't develop GFE experiences, you don't have time and go straight to boom-boom. For example, these are a number of things i have done travelling overseas which would be impossible or financially out of reach here:
1. Multiple all-night sex marathons with 1 or 2 ladies for under $200cdn each (sometimes under $100 depending on country)

4. Picking up freelancers for $40-100 in various environments

The main sunk cost of travelling is the plane ticket, which you can get for $700-1000 to Thailand during low season. Hotels and food are dirt cheap. If you stay for at least two weeks you'll more than break even compared to the cost here, but with superior looking girls, better GFE and experiences. There are things you can do there that you simply can't do here no matter the cost.
The big question is, what do you do in Vancouver?
For $3,000 you can fly to Bangkok for a week and be with a girl every night you're there. You could also spend that money for a weekend in a 5-star hotel in Downtown Van and pay for a top-shelf, elite, SP to spend a night with you.

Then consider that girls who take up that trade for that sole purpose are a dime a dozen as well, which means competition is high, which means there's no such thing as 'restrictions' or pricing schemes on 'extras'. I’ve travelled to countries like Thailand where sex tourism is a popular thing but I’ve never gone for that reason. Always went for the beaches, scenery, authentic adventure, food and culture. I know it’s a means of decent income for these girls but it wouldn’t sit right with me knowing most of them are doing it out of desperation and or sex trafficking.
Tickets to Thailand are pretty cheap right now, $750 or so round trip.
From a quick search, it looks like food and reasonable accommodations can be had for about $50 per day.
So a week in Thailand would run $1,100 to just be there and eat. Pretty cheap.
At that price you would need to "save" about $160 per day on hobby related activities for the trip to "pay off".
From the prices above, it looks like just seeing one lady per day would make the trip pay off.
And if you did overnights, multiple ladies at a time, multiple sessions per day, etc, then the "savings" would really add up.
Thats a broad generalisation and an incorrect one at that. Women who work at most of these establishments do it of their own free will (i.e. all beer bars or agogos they freely enter renewable 30 day and up contracts) or are freelancers. The Thai miltary Junta has taken control of the industry the last 5 years and have been very strict in stamping out any trafficing (i.e. all places with underage and girls from Cambodia Laos etc have been shut down and long standing arrests made), and do regular raids/inspections and ID/passport checks on all establishments. They CHOOSE this job as an easy way to make money, because it makes 'much' more doing this than any other means they can. Same as any WG here, they could CHOOSE to do another job or education but they don't.
It certainly doesn't make me feel better doing the same thing here, because the girls here act much more spoiled and entitled will waste your money on useless clothes and peripherals instead of necessities supporting their family for example. Morally, i don't see your qualms because there are two consenting adults involved. In all my time, i've never ever met any girl that even appeared 'coerced' or forced into it, quite the opposite as i have maintained contact and relations with many and continue to freely see them upon my returns.
Being paid to have sex is the dream life is it not. Instead of hard work at say a factory, for minimum wage. They get to have fun and pleasure, all while making a significant amount of money. Damn good work for anyone who can get it!
