Ps anyone calling for Buono's head is an idiot.....
God forbid we criticize the GM/Coach of a team that has gone 8-10, 8-10 and is currently 1-6...

who has won 1 Grey Cup in the last nine years, in an eight team league...

who benched the 2004 MVP in the 2004 Grey Cup and then lost...

who has made questionable decisions after questionable decisions involving game management on the field and personnel off the field...

nope, time for Braley to take a hard look at one Mr. Wally Buonohead...

won't happen...

Braley doesn't have the balls...

at best, all we can hope for is, Mr. Ego (Buonohead), relinquishes the coaching reins for the good of the team and focuses on his duties as GM...

better that he only screw one thing up, rather than both...

BTW, does this prove once and for all that Ackles was the architect/leader of this team when they had their nice run from 20003-2008...

not the brilliant Buonohead:rolleyes:...

Ackles was one of the preeminent football bird dogs in North America, CFL or NFL...

he had it made in the NFL, but his love for Vancouver and his beloved BC Lions/CFL brought him back home...

the thing is, when he came home to Vancouver and the BC Lions, he retained all his NFL and major college connections...

he gave Buonohead the best personnel in the entire CFL...

Buonohead parlayed it into one Grey Cup:rolleyes:...

Ackles passed away and Buonohead couldn't carry his jockstrap or briefcase...

hell, Ackles had forgot more about football than Buonohead will ever know...

the rest is history...

I'd get rid of both of them...
awesome plan. I am a bombers fan, the lions are like 40 games above .500 under Buono and have never missed the playoffs. The Lions are a weaker team without Buono and if you fire him you get to go head hunting for a job that 12 guys in the world have experience at and can succeed at (CFL GM) The CFL is also a famous carousel of coaches just circling teams as well and Buono is well regarded in both a coach and GM by his peers) It helps the bombers chance to win in BC next year if you clean house. Do what you must =)

hmmm well Lions havent had a winning season since 2008!Bouno being above .500 overall means nothing at this point. Two back to back 8-10 seasons and last year we were 1-7 so far 1-6....Its not working in the coaching dept!

yes .500 does matter, winning more than half your games in a small league almost guarantees a playoff berth. Last year kind of proves the point. It was the same team (coached by the same guy) that was 1-7 that then won 7 in a row. I really don't care if Buono stays, but there isn't exactly a long list of great CFL minds to replace him. The same few guys circulate through again and again. Maybe it is time for Don Matthews to come outside again and run a team???

I think we have a good chance tonight with Stamps out and the desire to redeem ourselves from the beating that the Bombers gave us last week.

Not trying to highjack but Greg Marshall and Doug Berry are now available. I never liked Berry but I think Marshall was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Riders have some serious problems and Swaggerville must be licking their chops in anticipation.

For the love of God, don,t hire Doug Berry.

Only Mike Kelly could make that clown look good.

I'm picking the Lions tonight...

Edmonton is decimated by injuries, they have probably lost half their playbook...

the Lions will then be 2-6 and in the heat of a playoff battle...

only in the CFL...
