I was born in a country where honour killings were common place. Doesn't define what human nature should be ideally.
My body my choice applies only when you keep it yourself. Don't advertise it then. Don't say I won't see a person from a certain ethinic group and I am happy with it. Don't see me if you don't like me but don't hate my race.
Theres been other threads on this board where some guys complain that the SP didn't advertise openly that she doesn't see other races. You can't please everyone.
And here I am not saying Miss Hunter doesn't see a ethnic group. Any provider who posts an ad and on the bottom says she won't see a person from a certain ethnic group is plain wrong. If you don't feel comfortable seeing someone just say you can't see them during the screening but don't advertise that you don't see certain ethnic groups. It validates a bias which is so wrong to start with.
I have never seen any ad which says I don't see white people because I feel uncomfortable.
True, I don't screen by ethnicity, for the simple fact I have no reason to. I'm out in my life. But I'm extremely picky when taking on new clients, so I suppose I am very discriminatory in my own ways. The entire concept of screening is discriminatory, but back to the intimate nature of this business, who I decide to see and what I decide to do with them is my business, no-one else's.
But I have had the racist card thrown at me. Nowhere do I ask to provide race/ethnicity for screening, but on a few occasions when I decline someone who has provided their race in screening all on their own, I have been accused of racism.
Have you ever heard of twitter? Plenty of providers complaining about "white men" but, whatever, I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion...
