Almost???? As another example I recently saw this: 'I just read an article in which Republican member Rep. Mo Brooks, a member of U.S. House of Representatives Science, Space and Technology Committee is quoted as saying yesterday that 'erosion plays a significant role in sea-level rise' . He also said 'the California coastline and the White Cliffs of Dover tumble into the sea every year, and that contributes to sea-level rise'.

???? How on earth can such an ignoramus be a member of U.S. House of Representatives Science, Space and Technology Committee??????
It's actually everyone flushing their toilets. Every time you flush, it sends more water out to sea, causing the oceans to rise. Duh. :heh:

I have hope the soon to be voting age American's will fix this by voting out the power of the GOP next election. At the very least, I am sure every kid handed a clear plastic backpack in order to save their life is one vote for the Democrats. Am I crazy to think this might happen?
yes, yes you are, lol

the Democrats, they've never had the numbers to change this before, they just need the numbers right :twitch:

like they had the first 2yrs with Barack (the pipelayer) Obama

Gabrielle Giffords, one of their own got shot in the head, crickets

He is probably one of the more intelligent Republicans.

This is the decline of (and a very good argument against) democracy. It can ultimately lead to bad governments.

I have to be very careful when posting on subjects like this......I will say this.
The amount of weapons in the hands of US citizens is staggering....they are to far gone to ever get real control over it.

My heart goes out to the fallen, in this instance......and all the other senseless shootings in schools.
To the children, and their families.....my heart weeps for them , and their horrific loss.
According to the General Social Survey, less than ⅓ live in a household with a gun.
And other studies suggest that 3% of the US population own 50% of the guns.
It is very much a tyranny of the minority.

The Americans first created their system as "a government of the people by the people". Hence the 2nd amendment and the people could defend themselves from tyranny or foreign invaders. Or use a rifle to hunt to put food on the table.
The available access to guns is staggering, hence why the states lead the world in crime statistics when guns are involved.
When people are pushed in the direction they don't want to go (by society, by schools) they look around and say what can I do? The fastest answer is the American slogan"Worlds greatest equalizer". Whether they are bullied or mentally ill, dosen't matter; they have quick access to guns. They want to even the odds....

The politicians want to maintain their status quo. This is to get reelected, using funds from the NRA. Most crisis will blow over in a couple of months, it always does, if they bide their time, the Florida shooting issue will fade away.....

So the politicians won't do anything, even the democrats if they win the majority in the fall....

Unless a politician is personally threatened, he/she will do nothing about gun laws. It will always have to do with the 2nd amendment. Only something that shakes them to their personal core, or self preservation will they act for the better interest of their country.

Going Postal has now entered the school.

Shooting Politicians and shooting up legislatures will not likely happen because most people that will do mass shootings will do those in familiar places like schools and places of work. Also they will look for easier targets, in a chance of self preservation.

I hope the American's can come to their senses about gun issues in their country without further bloodshed. Likely not, too many guns, too many people that have issues with other people. Its a fucken mess in the US and their ostrich approach to it tells me they are not the leaders of the world they think they are. Or they would of solved this problem after Columbine...

To make America great again. Individual Americans have to reach out to their neighbours, do things (good works) for them and expect nothing back in return. They have to be the good Samaritan from the bilble... And every one is your neighbour regardless of race, sexuality or colour.

Yet another school shooting today. I am sick and tired of the first words are always "thoughts and prayers" when they should be saying "let's fix this crazy shit right now".

I like to have the news on while I work but just can't listen to this continual travesty in the USA. Surely there is a way of keeping weapons out of the hands of those who should never have one, ban the components to make a legal weapon an automatic weapon, make military grade weapons only available to LEO and Military and have a decent screening process to actually make everyone safe.

This is a snopes link because gun owners and those wanting gun control can't even agree on the actual number of school shootings in 2018.

Current as of February 2018.

Yes every one should be sick and tired of hearing those words come from the mouths of politicians. Gun control and restricting access to crazy people isn't the answer. Arming teachers is not the answer. There are more guns per capita than any where on the planet and if the crazies want to kill, they can take them from the homes of cousins, fathers, aunts, uncles, neighbors and millions of other people. So really there is no stopping them.

Too late for America. It will happen regardless of anything they dream of doing.

Take away the black powder as it seems to be as addictive to Americans as any dangerous white powder on the streets. Guns don't kill but black powder and lead do.

One thing I've noticed is that it only seems to be American politicians that used the phrase "thoughts and prayers". With the recent tragedies in Toronto, France, etc. leaders would say things like "stand with the victims", "they are in our hearts" etc. or similar things.

I think the problem is they can't fix,
everyone owns a gun all ready,

I believe the guy in Texas had a pistol and a shot gun,
both obtainable in Canada. though the pistol is somewhat harder to get,
so what are you going to do, go house to house and take away everyone's gun

and this guy as far as I have heard was not on anyone's radar,

I think its more then just guns,
is a culture of violence,

and I think they are deep into it,
I can't remember who said Qyen Dryer sorry can't get even close to spelling his name

or the guy who wrote hunting humans,

but statistically, when you send soldiers off to war and bring them back, the murder rate goes up,
it tells people its one way to settle your issues just fucking take someone out.

I was watching some ncis show, a woman was torturing someone, there was blood all over the floor the guy was tied to a chair,
she took a knife and walked toward him,
at that point I turned the channel

it sickens me, its depressing to watch, criminal minds I can't watch anymore, just the sick violence bothers me,
I have no idea why that shit is even on t.v.

yeah its more then just guns.
there is a lot going on,
I would call it a sickness to people a mental health issue that is creeping into society,
and it is reflected in all these mass killings
you take away someone's gun
and they will just get in a car or van and mow people down.

yeah there is a lot fucking wrong in the world.
