Bunch of billionaires arguing with a bunch of millionaire... it's hard to feel sympathetic for anyone involved, other than the hockey fans, who are the ones suffering.
Athletes should thank god, and kiss the ground every single day, because they get the privilege of being well paid to do something they love....
This sums it up best....as for a lockout or strike it is pretty rediculous really considering that both sides
should have started negotiating a year ago when they knew the timeline.
I definatly have no sympathy for the players.....even the lowest paid NHL players make 5X more than I make
and they dont put in a 12 hour day 5 days a week like I do and I dont get to travel all over the USA/Canada like they do.It's not like the players are treated like indentured servants these days like when Eagleson
was the player REP.Yeah the owners have signed some really stupid long term high dollar contracts
that make the average hockey fan scratch their head over them.
Personally I think the bad part of the equasion are the greedy player agents who negotiate the contracts
with no care about the game of hockey overall but only have that 10% commission in sight. Those dirtbags
are akin to boxing promotors such as Don King who do nothing to further the sport in any way and just
fatten up their wallet whilst the sport suffers.
