Are Trump's tariff threats making you reevaluate your purchasing/vacation plans?

Some thought about this.
Its good for Americans to visit Canada, because the exchange rate is in their favour. Not so with Canadians visiting the USA. Trump should be gone in 4 years, and maybe congress will be Democrat in 2 years, who knows if this happens and the congress can balance Trump's policies.
As for Mexico, I would avoid it due to the politics about drugs and people crossing the border into the states.. eg cartel war vs. Mexico and US forces.
Europe seems a better bet, if the war in Ukraine can come to a peaceful end.

Yes, I’m actively avoiding US products and I cancelled plans for a winter trip to Arizona when the orange clown was elected. He’s given licence to overt racism, and the mood toward any foreigners down there has changed dramatically, even before the latest economic threats.

Good friends who’ve wintered down there for years (they’re white folks from Ontario fyi) say the mood has changed in many places, and they’re not comfortable any more. Even Americans they saw as friends have changed. This couple have lots of money, and while the low dollar sucks it’s not enough to change their plans, but they are selling their condo and saying fuck it. They’re smart and well informed. Racism, guns and maga idiots, plus Musk, Trump and his insane appointments to key positions all mean huge upheaval and the potential for outright violence from what they are seeing and feeling. They’re done.

With Trump’s first term I decided I would not go to the U.S. for vacation due to what he was doing: causing divisiveness and stress within the U.S. With the end of his term, the damage was done, and will take decades to recover, if ever in my lifetime, and I do not see myself ever visiting. I have been a long time supporter of buying Canadian whenever possible, to sustain our economy and build more within our borders. I have been an opponent of cross border shopping and believe that the tariff exemption on Canadians returning from the U.S. should be eliminated to discourage cross border shopping. If we don’t support Canadian businesses then we will no longer have them in the future, including storefronts.

We spend a lot in the US every year, couple of desert and Florida vacation, border runs for cheap gas and drives, not anymore won’t spend a nickel down there till that Orange idiot is gone. Been eyeballing vacations to Thailand, beautiful hotels, beaches cheap eats and bargain shopping, one day hotel price in US gets you a week over there, the flight is not cheap but what a bargain when you get there.

For the most part it is not the American people I have any affiliation with that are of that class of people that have bought into the believing in the convicted rapist felon. I will continue to visit the states and will not boo their national anthem or any of that shit that goes outside of what I am. No fat fuck elected cunt will change that. Have always tried to be a conscious consumer buying local if I can. And if I read it right the vast majority of fellow Canadians feel pretty much the same. Kinda like that old "I don't care if you are black, brown, red, white, gay, trans etc but if you are an asshole or if you support this fascist, then fuck off"

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump doesn't last the whole four years (he is quite old and not fit at all), but I took him at his word when he said this would be the last election they have.

'The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,' he said.

'We'll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site ... level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings.'

Trump a property developer who sees the world in terms of deals, has long talked up Gaza's coastal location and pleasant climate as a perfect holiday vacation.

In his vision, U.S. reconstruction would create thousands of jobs and spare Palestinians the pain and expense of rebuilding once again.

When a reporter asked if that might involve military force, Trump answered: 'If necessary.

I have been supporting local, BC, and Canada in that order. The amount of things that I buy from the US and China are both restrained. So buying even less would be hard given how little I pump into those two economies. I probably spend more on European products than from those other two places. I also buy a lot of things like books second hand and I don't know how that figures in. For vacations, I would rather go to Europe, South America or Thailand but a lot of that stems from the fact that those 3 are a better deal. And I almost forgot, I do vacation in Canada.

With regards to the ladies, I haven't spent any money in the US for about 10 years mostly because of the expense, risk, attitude and overall quality. Canadian ladies are an awfully good deal, and there is excellent variety here. And I am rather addicted to them.

Yes, the whole "It would be nice to visit Seattle again" idea is dead.
Last time I went down there it seemed to have a sort of deadness about it. I used to like the idea of having a second city close by to kind of get familiar with as a backup. Seattle used to have a buzz to it. Not so much now. Kind of quiet melancholy vibe. Or maybe it's just me.
Maybe Greenland, or Gaza or Panama or Canada will be an alternative once Trump takes them over.

Trump has become the literal epitome of the average American intelligence. A nation of fucking idiots.
And he's doing all this because of his vendetta with China overpassing everything America stood for.
And man his followers are even worse. Death and suffering for Trump regime seems to be their "logical" solution to problems. All for the greater good of Americans (according to Trump regime)
Everytime I deal with Americans in my job. I straight up lose fucking braincells. And even worse when some of my friends are also die hard Trump surpporters and I just want to smack them upside the head because they are so delusional.

I happily procure exclusively Canadian groceries, gas, clothing, beer/wine/liquor, vacation travel, and especially our beloved and sexy Canadian SP’s ❤ ❤ ❤

However, my ‘buy Canadian’ kryptonite is Amazon. Holy Fuk, they are just really good at delivering all the “stuff” I want, and they fo it fast and cheap. We need a Cana-Zon alternative, then we’ll be able to go for self-sufficiency.

At this point, I would like to encourage all travellers to forego the US and try other spots. Thailand is really really good. Vietnam is decent. Philippines can be interesting. Indonesia and Cambodia are not half bad. Sure the plane ride is a bit long but the prices and the 'benefits' are great especially for the single guy. And as for couples, Europe is a blast. People will quickly find out that it really isn't so worthwhile while to visit the States.

Vietnam is actually amazing country to visit. I had a blast there and I got to poon there as well, on top of hitting up some Tinder chicks.
Amazing country that loves foreigners.
Malaysia and Singapore also great countries to travel to. Singaporean women are also some of the best. Some are just drop dead gorgeous. Malaysian Indian cuisine is also so delicious 😋
China as well, and China is so vast that many different provinces are practically a different slice of China/ feeling like a complete different country.
Japan and Korea too, both also amazing countries with some of the cleanest hygiene and kindest people.
Also Japanese and Korean women are amazingly beautiful.
Fuck the US, there are so many better countries to visit where you can have genuine life experiences.
