Manuel aka Andrew Sachs passed away at age 86.

I still watch that series and get a laugh out of it everytime.

Manuel's pet rat Basil :) Funny stuff!

K? LOL!

Basil the rat.......one of my favourite episodes along with Mr's Richards the deaf lady.

Classic comedy at its best. I still have my set of DVD's of faulty towers and do watch it periodically.

RIP Man-well ! You are one of the best.

Decades later, Fawrty Towels remains the best ever comedy show in my books. Attempts have been made to recreate the idea but it never really worked. I think John Larroquette (spellings!) tried it once but the show never took off. It was titled 'Payne' or something, if I recall it correctly.

The chemistry was unreal. The timing of dialogues were impeccable and it was SO WELL written. (I am talking about Fawlty Towers, not Payne here).

I know NAATHING !! (from that episode with the deaf lady and horse betting). At 27:10 in the following clip. This was pure gold.

Once I was watching a BBC documentary and I was shocked or rather pleasantly surprised that it was narrated by Andrew Sachs!! You couldn't tell that it was the same guy who played Manuel with thick Spanish accent.

RIP Andrew Sachs.

Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross, a TV star left messages on Andrew Sachs' phone taunting him about having sex with his granddaughter, and then aired it on a radio show, laughing about it. He sufferred terrible shame and it made his later years very unhappy.

Lost all respect for Brand after that.

It will be interesting to see into the future if 40 years from now people have a RIP thread for Russell Brand.

I don't think he has done anything significant since his original standup from Brit Awards (?) years ago. His get me to the Greek was tiring to watch. I think he has already gone past his shelf life.
